If you haven't made your Halloween plans yet, here's a hot tip. Steve Lucky
& the Rhumba Bums are excited to debut at the beautifully restored Little
Fox in Redwood City. There will (of course) be lots of dancing on it's
spacious floor, and some great prizes will be given away for the best
costumes for each decade from the '20s through the '60s. Halloween on a

Here's our Luck-E-Letter for November:

Last month Steve Lucky & Carmen Getit were part of a fantastic show at the
Cafe du Nord promoted by the diva-licious Miss Lavay Smith and her stellar
Red Hot Skillet Lickers. The audience was treated to some really great
performances by vocalists Denise Perrier, Kim Nalley, Lavay Smith, Carmen
Getit and Connie Champagne. Big thanks to Lavay Smith for organizing this
event in which proceeds went to support the campaign of Matt Gonzalez for
mayor of San Francisco. For those of you who like to hear women jazz and
blues vocalists, check out Kim Nalley's Ladies Sing the Blues series at the
newly reopened Jazz at Pearl's on Columbus in North Beach.

We're thrilled to announce Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums will appear at the
Derby in Hollywood for New Year's Eve. Speaking of Hollywood, we just found
out Steve Lucky's original compositions were used in ABC TV's Bachelorette
show. Thank you Hollywood, and speaking of, who should drop by our show at
Aces last Friday in Sacramento but Lou Diamond Phillips. You may remember
him from the movie La Bamba. Turns out an L.A. fan of the Rhumba Bums and
Lou were in Sacramento shooting a mini-series.

Come on out, because you never know who will turn up. At the Ashkenaz last
month we had the great bluesman Mark Hummel come and play some harp with the
Rhumba Bums, and a hot South Bay guitarist Laura Chavez played some very
groovy guitar with the Hammond Cheese Combo.
