Luck-E-Letter December 04: Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums and more December+
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everybody,

Hope you all got your fill of Holiday Turkey Sauce, and were not forced to
utter "Where's My Gravy!". If you remain unsatiated, we have a few public
shows this month where you can wet your whistle. The Rhumba Bums make a
rare appearance at Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco - this is always a
fun, intimate venue to hear live music, plus the food is delicious. And we
head down to Redwood City for a Holiday Dance Concert with special dance
performances at historic Foresters Hall.

Last month we had a ball performing with the unforgettable Carol Fran at
Biscuits & Blues. That same night we celebrated Francis Clay's birthday
(Muddy Waters' drummer). Lots of musicians turned out to perform musical
tributes to Francis. Sitting in with the Carmen Getit! band were
saxophonist/vocalist Bobby Webb, Carlos & Myrna Zialcita, former John Lee
Hooker vocalist Juce Garcia, plus many others. After performing a private
event, Huey Lewis showed up with his saxophonist (and composer of "Where's
My Gravy?"), Rob Sudduth. No Huey didn't sit in with us (he didn't have a
harmonica with him), but the ever-tasty Rob Sudduth did. Also in November
Carmen Getit collaborated with legends Pinetop Perkins and Willie Big-Eyes
Smith to celebrate the release of Pinetop's critically acclaimed "Ladies
Man". The shows were such a success we're told there are plans for more
West Coast Shows in February or March.

In January the Bums make their debut at the Crystal Bay Casino in Stateline,
NV on the shores of Lake Tahoe. If you make your way to the mountains,
check out this new venue because the promoter is putting together exciting
shows, many with no cover charge in an effort to get the buzz going. And if
you find yourself with the post-holiday blues, Steve & Carmen debut at a new
venue on the beach in Mexico - come join us and make a vacation of it.
We'll be there for over a week performing as a duet. Find all the details

Byrd Hale of KZSU radio, and Jeff & Laura Diamond of KDVS radio, for

vocals, Miss Carmen Getit on guitar & vocals, Scott Edog Petersen and Doug
Rowan on baritone, tenor & alto saxophones, Lukas Vesely on upright bass and

The "STEVE & CARMEN SHOW" is a duet (unless due-ly noted) featuring Miss
Getit on vocals and guitar, and Steve Lucky on piano and vocals, performing
original songs and covers from the ‘20s – ‘60s in the roots R & B and blues
tradition. The quartet version features Lukas Vesely on the bass, and Brian
