Luck-E-Letter June 06: Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums & more
Hey everybody,
We're excited to return to Santa Cruz this month after a 3 year hiatus . We're performing at a new venue, the E3 Playhouse, located right in downtown Santa Cruz and it's owned by a musician. Tell your friends! And to win free tickets, you've got several chances next week:
1) Tune into Mike Cleary on Magic 63 radio in the Monterey & Santa Cruz areas Tuesday 6/6 at 9:30 am and again later in the week, magic63.com.
2) Tune into Pete Fallico on KUSP 88.9 fm Santa Cruz Monday June 5 between 9:30 & midnight.
3) Tune into Charlie Lange also on KUSP next Friday June 9 between 1 & 3 pm.
The Rhumba Bums are thrilled to kick-off the San Francisco Jazz Festival's Summer Concert series next Thursday 6/8 at the Stanford Shopping Center - and it's free to the public. And don't miss an opportunity to hear the Bums at one of our favorite San Francisco venues Friday 6/9 at Biscuits & Blues. It's all ages and has good Southern Cuisine, and best of all, it's an intimate venue great for both listening and performing.
And this month we're excited to return to Southern Cal for dates at the Derby and the Huntington Beach Pier Concert Series, and we make our debut in Minnesota! Tune into KFAI community radio in Minnesota for a chance to win free tickets to our shows there.
Thanks to all our fans who turned out Memorial Day Weekend for the 4 day Sacramento Jazz Jubilee - we had a ball.
Couple of other things:
Our main computer died, and we're working off an old machine with old data, so not everyone will receive the newsletter this month, and others may receive it twice as we rebuild the system. We apologize for this. So spread the word about our shows to folks, especially those who you think signed up for the newsletter in the last 10 months. And if any one has expertise in trying to save data from a hard drive before re-installing the OS, please let us know! We'll pay for this service!
Steve Lucky is selling his Yamaha grand piano, however he won't trade it for computer help. If anyone is interested, please contact us.
