Hey folks
We’ve got some fantastic; news………the newest and bestest Rhumbabum has hit the stage!
And now ladies and gentlemen, we’d like to introduce to you Miss Monique Rose!
She was born November 8th at 2:59 am after a relatively short (8.5 hrs) but eventful labor, 7 pounds, 5 ounces and 20 inches long. Carmen performed wonderfully as always, but this time really showed her true grit by going through the entire birth without any drugs or pain medication. (Carmen said her mom was right - it wasn’t that bad) Monique came out ready to sing with nice long fingers, a captivating personality, and (do I even need to mention this?) is absolutely stunningly beautiful!
In a display of Steve’s natural showmanship, he tried to steal the spotlight from the ladies by getting stung by a bee in the face Tuesday afternoon shortly before Carmen went into labor. His eyes nearly swelled shut by the time we reached the hospital, and he was sent to the ER. Having then missed much of labor, he was requested to return to the ER after an hour, at which point the Doc finally checked Carmen for the first time and said she was fully dialated. The rush was on in the Hospital to get Steve back to the Labor & Delivery Room, while Carmen was told not to push through contractions. When Steve made it back the Doc checked again and it turned out she was 9.5 cm (instead of 10) so the pressure was off…for Steve.
In a poetic foreshadowing of the big day, our hot water heater broke its water tank on Monday, and Steve redeemed himself by installing a new one.
We brought her home Thursday to Chez Lucky, and on Friday, Carmen’s two large, remodeled restaurants opened exclusively for Monique’s business and delight. She’s eating heartily and gaining weight quickly, and everyone is in a state of bliss.
Steve Lucky : “I’m so in love with her!”Uncle Tim: “She has a wise face”
Carmen: “This is the best birthday present ever”
Aunt Snezhana: “I want another one”
Lucio: “She’s holding down a (guitar) chord already”
Pediatrician at her first checkup: “She’s perfect”
Berge: “She’s not as wrinkly as I thought she’d be”
Cousin Natalie, 5 years: “When is she going to grow up and be a big girl like me?”
Uncle Matt: “I don’t buy the bee story; Carmen you hit Steve during labor didn’t you?”
Now stay tuned for our upcoming shows:
