Luck-E-Letter September 2008: Steve Lucky & the Rhumba
Bums
Hey everybody!
Ai yai yai we've been busy as bird-dogs lately (I
heard that colorful simile from the great pianist and artist Caroline Dahl) and
that's just the way we likes it! It's been great to see lots of you at
our shows lately, but what about the rest of you all? YOU know who I'm
talkin' to....YOU!
We
are excited for our debut at the world famous Yoshi's
Jazz Club in Oakland. SO excited in fact, that we will again
be offering our new CD "Some Like It Hot!" for just $10 that
night. You heard it right - purchase "Some Like It Hot!" for
just $10 and receive a free, full color poster! And, if you act
now...okay, just kidding.
Seriously
folks, we would love to see you there, we need your support at this show!
And rumor has it they will have the dance floor open, and encourage
dancing. There are lots of ticket giveaways on your favorite radio
stations so tune in.
We
also debut in
Mr.

And
we're not done with our summer festival appearances - check us out in
And
don't forget our semi-regular Wednesday night shows at Bing Crosby's in Walnut Creek. We've
been having a ball out there.
Now
for the Monique Corner: She's 22 months old, and has been busy using her
colors and numbers, and also confusing the two: "What color is the
bunny's hat, Monique?" "Do" (which means two). Her
vocabulary is expanding rapidly - it would be a chore to try to list them all,
but the pronunciation is challenging. It's tough to understand if she's
saying "shoes" or "juice" for example. She's grown
quite fond of books in the last month, and she really likes this large, full
color photo & fact book on insects, and is particularly fascinated with the
beetles page....which of course makes us wonder why she loves the beetles so
much, prompting choruses of "She loves them, yeah, yeah,
yeah". And Monique sings along...
Now
stay tuned for our upcoming shows:
