Luck-E-Letter July 2009: Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums
& the
Hey Hey Hey Everybody,
We hope this note finds you well and hungry for some live
music and dancin’ fun, because that’s what we have in store for
you. The Rhumba Bums will be returning to some of our favorite spots in
Southern California real soon (like tomorrow night!), and are back in Monterey
on the 4th of July for a great party there (we were there last
Saturday for the Monterey Bay Blues fest and had a wonderful time).
The Hammond Cheese Combo is gearing up for a new CD with a
show at Gordon Biersch in San Jose, and this month marks the return of the
“Crazy in Love with Patsy Cline” shows, featuring our own Miss
Carmen Getit, Belle Monroe http://www.brewglassboys.com/, and our great friend
and talent, Lavay Smith http://www.lavaysmith.com/. Also featured is
pedal steel & lap steel Hall of Famer Bobby Black. Bobby is a
wonderful player who has played with so many greats – too many to mention
here - dig deeper at http://www.rearwindowmusic.com/ . Lavay organized a
series of these shows in 2006 and they all sold out and a great time.

figure’ – sounds rather intriguing, no? Well, unless you

like music player and other cool music stuff.
Baby Corner: The fans have asked for updates on the newest
Rhumba Bum, so here goes: Monique Rose is 2 years, 8 months old and enjoying
coming to shows with Mom & Dad, often whimpering when she can’t
attend. She plays her guitar (ukulele) on stage with the band, and will
sing songs into a microphone while plucking strings on her uke. She
enjoys trying to write “my letters” (ABCs) and dancing.
She’s pretty much potty trained…can’t remember when we last
changed a poopy diaper? She’ll probably be at the
