Yikes! :-O That's a hella long drive G/F!!!!
No, Bill doesn't wanna drive all that way. Since he had that heart
attack, he is still doing most things in moderation and that long of
a drive would be really tiring for him...and I won't be really fit to
drive a long ways either.
We did discuss it some and we figured either we'd have to get a
rental car to drive down or we'd have to drive his pick-up truck (his
BABY! LOL!) and leave it down in LA for a week and that just AIN'T
gonna happen!
We figured it'll cost us probably another $500 to $700 for the
flights, round trip, the airport shuttles and to stay the extra
night, but I think it will all be worth it!
I just can't resist a Redhead PRE-Function!
PAR-TAY y'all!!!!

Hi Everybody!!! I just
decided to join here!
Wasn't sure
if you all knew it or not (I know some of you do, cause you're there
already), but there are TWO Yahoo groups for this cruise deal. I
joined that one Here: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/redheadcruisers/
and now this one, so
I can stay in touch with everybody and work out the plans for all the
FUN!
Haven't
decided if we're gonna stay on the Queen Mary yet, but my hubby Bill
did say it would be cool to fly in one day early. We're only
about an hour and a half flight north of Long beach
up in Salinas, CA. We'll be on American
Eagle out of Monterey, CA.
We also need
to arrange for a shuttle as well. Looks like
Prime Time shuttle is going to be $64 round trip, to and from LAX,
for two people and the best thing about that one is that their vans
are *RED*! LOL!

Hi Joanne,
We are not coming from Charlotte but we are also arriving on the 21st from
Baltimore. I haven't booked yet but I'm pretty sure we will be staying at the
Queen Mary as well. I haven't heard about this party but would like to
know about it also. Looking forward to meeting everyone. :-))

Subject: [cabowabocruise] SHUTTLE FROM LAX TO LONG BEACH
Mikie:
We are flying into LAX. We checked prices on taxi's vs the super shuttle. Super shuttle is $17.00 per person and a taxi is around $80.00 ??? OUCH !! You can go into supershuttle.com to look at the prices. We already booked our shuttle. Hope this has helped.

Thanks for the info... very helpful. Will you be flying in to Long Beach or LAX??? Seems that flights to Long Beach are a little spendy vs. LAX. But a shuttle from LAX is pricey... Need to save as much as possible so I can afford drinks on the ship. Trying to figure out the best one for purposes of a shuttle to the pier.
Subject: [cabowabocruise] Queen Mary Discount- FYI
I just booked a room for the 22nd on Queen Mary - Call them direct(562- 435-3511) vs. online reservations, let them know that you are departing on the Carnival Pride on the 23rd & they will give you a discount. A King room with discount was $119.00 vs the $169.00 online. ~Claudia
Thanks for the info on the Queen Mary. We booked on line, but will cancel that reservation and call them at the number you listed. We will be arriving on the Queen Mary on the 22nd around 6:00 p.m. We are flying in from Cleveland, OH. We will have our Hagar shirts and hats on, so you can't miss us ! Sure there will be plenty of REDHEADS on the Mary, we need to have a party of our own that night. My name is Lesli and my Hubby is Harry. Keep in touch and let's get this pre-party organized. ROCK ON RED ROCKERS.....

Hey there Harry and Leslie!! We have 3 flying out from Grand Rapids
Michigan on the 22nd.... Maybe we will hit a connecing flight? So
where is the Queen Mary?
This is not our first time around the block. On our last cruise, we used a mouthwash bottle with a little food coloring and a resealed bottle of wine with Brandy in it. Buy the corks and seals @ the local wine store. Party on, see you on the cruise. May come over for a shower.
