Multi-Disc Releases From Johnny And June Carter Cash This Summer

Johnny Cash

In commemoration of two music icons, fans of both Johnny Cash and his
wife June Carter Cash will be able to purchase multi-disc specials
from both of the singers. Columbia will release sets of CD's from
Johnny and June on June 7 featuring rarities, photos and hits.

Johnny's release will be entitled Johnny Cash —The Legend. It's a
four-disc set with a whopping 107 songs. The track listing will span
Cash's career from 1955 to 2002 and will include songs from all of the
albums he recorded for the Sun and Columbia record labels. Seven
previously unreleased tracks will be included.

According to Billboard, one of the unreleased songs is called "It
Takes One To Know Me," which was written by Cash's stepdaughter
Carlene Carter. Cash recorded the song in 1977 and Carlene has since
added her own vocals to the song. All the other unreleased songs stem
from Cash's recordings from the '70s and '80s and include a demo of
"Down In The Valley" and a cover of Billy Joe Shaver's "You Can't Beat
Jesus Christ."

A limited edition version of the box set will include a hardcover
book, a bonus CD of Johnny's first radio appearance and a DVD of the
1980 CBS special Johnny Cash — The First 25 Years.

June's double-disc release, Keep On The Sunny Side, will feature 40
songs from her catalogue.
