hello,
well, my uncle (also armando dominguez' from Mariachi Azteca, y
un saludo para ellos, wassa ismaelvihuela) has played guitarron for
about 50 years and has played at el mercadito in east los angeles for
about 35. His back pain got so bad that his boss, owner of el
mercadito, told him to go home for the night! No mariachi misses
work at el mercadito...anyways, he started wearing a back brace like
the ones used for weight training and heavy lifting. There are thin
braces available at sporting good stores, and I also recommend
stretching. Maybe taking taekwondo, aerobics, or yoga classes. I
personally like taekwondo and it has ridden me of my 95% of my back
problems caused by heavy lifting. Protect yourself, i try not to be
brave and use a leather belt used for weight training to fill and
pick up my 5 gallon containers of water...people look at me funny,
but i don't give a hoot...because when I lift heavy, my lower back
disc(s) become herniated or something and the pain is tremendous.
take care and stretch everyday
