It is hard to say when I heard my first organ but I can say for certain
where as I grew up within a few blocks of Euclid Beach Park. They had
several organs but the three main ones were the Artizan that was at the
entrance to the Rocket ship ride, one I did not know well on the
Carousel and of course the largest original 110 key Gavioli in the
country in the skating rink. Perhaps the most memorable day was after
the rink was converted to a auto ride and one where the park managers
daughter and I were left to play that organ. That is the day I probably
developed my interest in mechanical music..... That organ changed
hands many times and the last I knew was in the Tragar collection. But
for me it has lead to many memorable travels, the building of my own
Hofbaur and now and intrest not only in mechanical music but the
Theater organs of which we have a few good ones in the area.
