Hi Ben,
Go to
http://www.google.com
When you get there, click on the "images" icon. When a new screen comes
up, do a search on German fair and street organs.
Hope that helps!

Hello Brenda,
On the home page of this site there are some tunes which
open up in Windows Media Player. The other suggestion is that you look
in Drehorgel .de and look ay music and see if you can download it, best
wishes for a good day, Bob West in the UK
I am sure this is a little off the wall for most of you - but here it
goes.
Our annual horse show has a special costume extravaganza on the Sat
night,it is promoted as a spectators event because of the costumes and
music but participants plan months in advance. I have decided that
would like to dress my black thoroughbred horse as a carousel horse
and if I wear a long flowing southern belle type dress I should be
able to move up and down enough to give the illusion that the horse is
moving on the pole ( cardboard tube painted gold and decorated) -
there is the concept- next step music, I have no idea where to look to
purchase or download on line. your sight was an inspiation and i
enjoyed every music clip. I need something alittle longer approx, 3
min. just guessing I think the waltz type rythms would be most
suitable, but you guys are the experts
Help me build a real life carousel horse any sites that I might down
load picture or music would be a great. Thanks for your time brenda
Hi Mike,
Have you had a look at the list of C.Ds available from Wilfried
Hommerich, CM music production in Germany. There are dozens and dozens
of organ CDs. There are also some English CDs available from FOPS in
England

The people who restore old carousel organs have done a great job of
recording carousel music and putting it on CD's. You couldn't do
better than to buy a couple of these CD's. Two of the best companies are:
http://www.mrrecordings.com/ and
http://www.klavier-records.com/circus.htm
(YahooGroups doesn't like to do links, so you need to copy & paste
these addresses into your browser)
I particularly like "Catch the Brass Ring" and "Catch Another Brass
Ring" from Klavier, which are from a great-sounding Wurlitzer 165.
These CD's are also available used from amazon.com.
Hope this helps. Mike Schoeppner
Hi everyone
Being a new member I discovered this site while researching for a
miniature carousel my brother-in-law (87 years young) has been
building for the past 15 years. He has asked me to assist him in
finishing it. If anyone can assist me in downloading these songs
(with the same quality) and finding any videos of carousels, I would
greatly appreciate it..
Thank you very much for taking the time to set a great site.

Hello fellow Australians / Germans / polka music fans !
I would like to introduce myself and let you all know of my sites and
music.
My name is Phillip Nadvesnik. I am not exactly German but I am a lover
of German music and am involved in the German culture. I am 13 years
old and live in Melbourne. I play the piano accordion and perform
often at your German Club Tivoli. Last week I was a hit at our
Oktoberfest too and will be soon featured on Peter Bluemel's German
music hour on Melbourne Radio here. I have two websites -
www.accordionmaniac.tk which is all about my musical hobby and passion
with the piano accordion. Here you can read about me and listen to my
music. At www.polkaradiomelb.tk you can visit the website of my second
favourite hobby which is a little internet stream I run on the
weekends with non-stop polka/waltz/Oktoberfest style music. I think
maybe some of you might like this so I hope you can check my sites out
! I would like to make contact with people who are in the know about
the German culture and polka & waltz music future in Australia. It is
vital to have a running future to keep the culture alive anyways.
Please e-mail me if interested an check out my sites !
Yours sincerely and best spring greetings - Phill
Hi Mike,

Hi,
I just discovered your group, and I'm happy to be a new member.
This may be old information to the members, but I didn't find any
references in searching the posts. Please forgive me if this is
redundant.
There is a club called the Carousel Organ Association of America whose
purpose is to restore and play old mechanical carousel organs. It's a
great club, and their rallies (held 4 times a year) are something to
see. The website is http://www.coaa.us

>I couldn't agree more! There really is something about mechanical organs, isn't
there?
I'd like to draw everyone's attention to the work being done by Johan
Liljencrants, an organ builder of great talent and scholarship but little
recognition in Sweden.
Check out his home page www.fonema.se - includes descriptions of his organology
research and music samples from a very nifty organ hs built.

Margriet,
I couldn't agree more! There really is something about mechanical organs, isn't
there?

Hey Dave, nice to hear about the pipe organ! I was born in SF, and
lived there 32 years. There used to be a lot of interest there in
organs of all types, from Sutro's to various churches, and there were
also at least 5 theatres (Fox, Paramount, Marina, Orpheum, El
Capitan) that still had playable organs when I was growing up in the
1950s. Keep us informed if your project moves ahead!

As for me, I am in one of my periods of paying attention to other hobbies just
now. I will be doing a major upgrade to the Silverleaf Music Research web site
in a few months. Also getting the ball rolling on an automatic pipe organ
building project that I hope will happen at a local restaurant. We'll see.
If so it would be the first newly-built secular pipe organ in San Francisco in
about 70 years.

Hi!
I think people would rather listen to the music on this site than post
messages. And that's OK by me!
All the best,
Dudley

Hi William. There are a few of us here. I'm just a "lurker",
without a band organ (yet), but working on it.

Hi all,
I want to let you know about the work of Johan Liljencrants, who built a
self-playing all-acoustic organ over the past few years, based on carousel-organ
models, but with a large dollop of his own creativity.
I'd encourage you to check out his site which includes pictures, sound clips,
technical details, and even a transmlation of a newspaper article that appeared
in his hometown.
http://www.fonema.se
Dr. Liljencrants is one of those rare people who combine scientific and
engineering brilliance, creativity, good musical taste, and great teaching
ability.
Also, you should know about the Mechanical Music digest,
(http://mmd.foxtail.com) which is THE source for all things musical and
technical about not only carousel organs but also player pianos, orchesrions,
and other automatic instruments. In fact there is still active R&D and
commercial instrument making going on in this field.
enjoy!
