MUSIC IN OLD TOWN SERIES BEGINS WITH CONCERT, FOOD, FUN, FELLOWSHIP

Kicking off the first 2009 MUSIC IN OLD TOWN SERIES at the historic
McWhorter-Greenhaw building in old town Mesquite will be world-class
Indian fusion and classical music, world-class Indian food for sampling
and Texas-style fellowship and fun. Beginning at 3 pm, Sunday, Feb. 15,
Indian sitar master Vatsal Dave of India will join forces with Grammy
Award- Winning guitarist-pianist Art Greenhaw of Mesquite for a rare
performing experience, mini-concert and CD release party of the new
album, LONE STAR SITAR which is available wherever records are sold in
India. Joining Mr. Dave and Mr. Greenhaw is Neel Bhatt on tabla.
Traditional Indian sampler cuisine will be served courtesy of India
Garden.

McWhorter- Greenhaw enterprises have in years past hosted and produced
such superstars and legends as Engelbert Humperdinck, Ann-Margret, The
Light Crust Doughboys, members of The Ventures, members of Peter Paul &
Mary, James Blackwood & The Blackwood Brothers and many others.

Says MUSIC IN OLD TOWN SERIES' co-founder and arts patron Caryl Semmler
of Mesquite, "Many of us have long seen the tremendous potential of
downtown, old town Mesquite becoming an artists' square where music
pours out of the shops and onto the streets and sidewalks. We couldn't
be more happy that these world-class, Indian-meets-American artists and
terrific food are coming together to give our community a fabulous
musical afternoon and a new lease-on-life for the historic, downtown
Mesquite area. Join us for this trend-setting day which is sure to be a
cultural highlight of 2009."

McWhorter-Greenhaw is located 1 mile east of I-635 and Military Parkway
at 105 S. Broad Street, Mesquite, 75149, across from the gazebo
bandstand and Wells-Fargo Bank. Thanks to several benefactors of the
arts and supporters of old town Mesquite, admission to the Feb. 15
performance and community gathering is free. For more information, phone
972/285-5441. For information on the album LONE STAR SITAR, visit
