Well, the big St. Patrick's Day holiday rapidly approaching, and I'm
feeling the pinch with too many things to do. So I want to ask for
some assistance in a few areas.
FIRST, I need someone (or a few someones) to contact artists. There
are a LOT of bands who are still unaware of the Irish & Celtic Music
Podcast and the Celtic MP3s Music Magazine.
I want to setup a message board somewhere, specifically for promoting
stuff. Prolly looking at doing it on the Song Henge website. Though
for now, I'll just use this site.
So if you could list 5-10 bands who you will contact for the Irish &
Celtic Music Podcast, and ask them to submit at
http://www.celticmp3s.com/submit/ , that'd be a great start.
Here are some bands that need contacting:
- Needfire
- THE SALTY DOGS, http://www.saltydog.ca/flash/main.html
- Green Man
- Switchback
- Ancient Hype
- Bad Haggis
- Enter The Haggis (not sure if they have new material)
- Great Big Sea (never have received permission from them
- Dropkick Murphys
- Linda Rutherford & Celtic Fire
- Urban Trad (www.urbandtrad.com)
- Alan Stivell, www.alan-stivell.com
- Liz Carroll
- Brendan Bulger of The Sprigs
- Gan Bua
- Chris Bain of Gan Bua
- Barra MacNeils
- Jerry Holland, Cape Breton
- Sandy McIntyre, Cape Breton.
- Winston Scotty Fitzgerald
- The Rankin Family
- Slainte Mhath
- Leahy
- Ashely MacIsaac
- Corquieu, from Asturias,
- Carlos Nunez, from Gallicia!
- Breizh
- Shenaniganz from New-Zealand
Remember if they have a record label, we will need permission from
them as well to be played on the podcast.
SECOND, I need a couple press releases. Anyone know how to write
those? Basically, one to promote the St Patrick's Day podcast and the
Celtic MP3s Music Magazine. You can read past editions of the magazine
at
http://ezinedirector.com/admin/publisher/archive/public?fuseaction=a&e=7947555E0\
046067845
for reference for the magazine and read up on it at
http://www.celticmp3s.com/
The highlight of the podcast is the "17 Free Celtic Music Downloads
for St. Patrick's Day", a special article and feature from Song Henge
that will give away MP3s. I think this this is like my fifth or sixth
year doing it. They'll be able to download those at
http://www.songhenge.com/
I'd also like you to send the press release out to Celtic
organizations and radio shows. You'll need to find a list to send it
to once it's done.
That's all my scattered brain can come up with right now, but I would
REALLY LOVE your help. As much as you can do!
Please let me know.
Slainte,
Marc
