RE: [charlie-parker] Re: bird on film

Hi
I have an other video with Bird it called "improvisation"  produced by Norman Grantz, but parker made a playback on music during 10 minutes.

as far as I've ever been able to determine, the only existing film
footage of charlie parker playing is from a live tv talk show, a B&W
ed sullivan type show from I think it was New Jersey in the late 40s,
and it features Bird & Diz.  I have this on VHS someplace and will
look for it when I get a chance.  I always thought it was really
wierd that somebody like Parker, who lived until the 1950s, would
never have been filmed but for this one time, but, there you have
it.  I wish I was wrong but I don't know of any other Bird on
film...  anyway it is a neat little segment, very short, but
incredible to watch Parker play, all the muscles in his neck and face
all jumping around like mad, he's puffing like a smokestack
