Can anyone possibly tell me whether he or she is familiar with any live
recording of "Salt Peanuts" (with Charlie and Dizzy) other than the
1947 Carnegie Hall version?

I remember a couple years ago hearing a fantastic performance of it on
an FM jazz station here in Los Angeles and I've since bought a CD of a
studio recording of it (which lasts only a few minutes) and just
recently got a CD of the 1947 Carnegie performance (which is only about
5 minutes long), but neither of these somehow seems like what I
remember having heard, which seemed to go on and on and was one of the
most fabulous and exciting jazz recordings I ever heard. The radio
station, when I wrote to them, wasn't able to track down the DJ who
played it since I couldn't remember his name(!) and didn't keep a
record of what was aired.
