Re: Salt Peanuts

Thanks, Torsten and Liew, for your responses (especially for the list
of all those other live versions, which I'm going to save!!); I
wonder what LP's or CD's those other versions might be still
available on. Last night I did find that live Salt Peanuts from
Massey on amazon.com and ordered it (it was only $3.97 and said "like
new"), but I think I ordered the one that says LIVE at Massey Hall,
rather than the other one (that I just now noticed) which says
something about "Complete" and which also indicates "Import"; anyway,
I think I'll enjoy the CD I ordered, and it's very likely that this
Salt Peanuts will turn out to be the same one I heard on the radio.

I also realize now that that 1947 version I got recently does NOT
include Charlie Parker in Salt Peanuts!!

record of a version at that time or place?? Perhaps you are referring
to the Massey Hall concert? It begins with Parker saying, "At this
time we would like to play a new tune. It was composed by my worthy
constituent, Mr Dizzy Gillespie in the year of 1942. We sincerely
hope you do enjoy Salt peanuts."
