San Francisco Blues Festival
Charlie and band were the hit of the show! (although Henrietta thinks I am
biased) The sound was perfect for their set and the audience of about 40k were
very responsive. I loved it when Charlie said something like "well, I am going
to play something I didn't know I was going to play, but I feel like playing it,
it is by Sonny Boy"....
I knew it would be Help Me. What a treat. I love the way he does that song. I
also love all his new songs. Heck I love ALL of his songs!
Some cat by me in the audience said, "seems like you know a lot about this
band." I guess because I was singing and groovin and discussin' the players with
my friend BJ, how good they are. Charlie's former guitartist Kirk Fletcher was
there firin' up the blues stew along with another amazing guitarist and
Charlie's newest member of the band, Chris "Kid" Andersen. These two set the
stage ablaze and tore the crowd up! Bob Welsh burned up the keys while June
Coor heated up the skins and Randy Bermudes in his (see-through shirt lookin
hot) sizzling on the bass. And of course our hero, Charlie...ahhhhh what sweet
music that man makes. Well, I could go on ...and on...and on...
He signed many many autographs for his fans. There is always a long line and he
gives each and every one of his fans all of his attention.
Check out the front page photo of two Charlie's havin' a bit of fun at the gig.
