Hi again. Sorry I missed rehearsal: it would lhave been fun to hear how
great we all were. I was with the delegation from Haute Loire that
Rusty pronounced so well!
I was told that what they enjoyed the most was the Charpentier. They
knew the Christmas songs it was based on and they said it was sung
lightly and with finesse.
Imagine that!
Now I can tell you:
It was not the marquis de lafayette who turned the British toward the
Americans, but Admiral (general?) Rochambeau. (I went online when I
wrote the program notes.)
But it is our little secret.
