Bonjour all
Well, I knew we were good. I am just happy to have heard it myself. The best part of sitting out this semester is not going to my UL classes, but looking and hearing the concert with the audience. I went Thursday and it was sooooo good. I loved it. I enjoyed the Charpentier and recognized old Christmas songs that I sang in my French Canadian hometown and thought it was funny until I looked at the title of the piece... Messe de minuit de Noel. duh!
May's group's repertoire was fresh and very enjoyable.
And I loved Thompson's 2 movements. I had chills and was mesmerized at the power of all the voices together. I really really enjoyed the whole concert.
Bravo!
Peggy

Hi again. Sorry I missed rehearsal: it would lhave been fun to hear how
great we all were. I was with the delegation from Haute Loire that
Rusty pronounced so well!
I was told that what they enjoyed the most was the Charpentier. They
knew the Christmas songs it was based on and they said it was sung
lightly and with finesse.
Imagine that!
Now I can tell you:
It was not the marquis de lafayette who turned the British toward the
Americans, but Admiral (general?) Rochambeau. (I went online when I
wrote the program notes.)
But it is our little secret.
See you next week.
MAy
