Summer Serenades A very cool way to spend hot summer Sunday afternoons
Each summer, ASO presents a series of intimate programs in different venues around town. Designed for small audiences in "up close and personal" settings, Summer Serenades showcase individuals and ensembles each week playing light, charming programs.
July 13 - "Love, What Else?" Location:South Louisiana Community College
A chamber string ensemble conducted by Maestro Mariusz Smolij
Featuring UL Opera Director Shawn Roy Andrea Loewy
July 20 - "Serendating Winds" Location: Grace Presbyterian Church
Featuring wind players of the ASO
Guest artists Dr. Bill Hockkeppel and Geraldine Hubbell
July 27 - "Cathedral Sounds" Location: Cathedral of St. John
Organ Concert
Featured soloists Tom Neil, Paul Morton and Nathan Abott
August 3 - "Strings of Summer" Location: Faith Lutheran Church
String Quartet
Featured performers: Ivan Antonov, Aaron Farrell, Barislava Iltcheva and Boris Tonkov
Each "Serenade" is held on Sunday afternoon and will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are only $10 each - or $30 for the entire series of four concerts. They are available at the ASO Office - 412 Travis in the Oil Center by telephone (337) 232-4277, ext. 200 at the door or click HERE to order online.
Following the July 13th and July 27th Summer Serenades, there will be "Serenade Suppers". Tickets are $40 per person.
