Hi, folks.  Many of you remember Jeanne Gilmore, bob's wife of many years.

She died earlier this week and the funeral mass will be at St. John
Cathedral Monday May 15 at (I think) 3 p.m.  She is hoping there will be
people there who sing.  There won't be a choir, however.

Please check the Advertiser for details.  Father Provost will be doing
the mass, from what I understand.  Please tell people who knew them.

Hi.  Does anyone have a copy of a setting of the Song of Ruth for high
voice that I could borrow? I know Flor Peeters wrote one, and there is
another, a war horse, but I can't remember the composer.

Background
The Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, K339 (Solemn Vespers for a
Confessor) were written in 1780, the year after Mozart had reluctantly
returned home to take up the role of court organist to Hieronymous
Colloredo, the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg. It was not a happy time
for Mozart. Now in his twenties, his days of instant recognition as a
child-prodigy were over, and his last trip to Europe in search of
wealthy patronage had proved fruitless. To make matters worse, his
mother, who had travelled with him, had been taken ill and died in
Paris, and Aloysia Weber, with whom he had fallen head over heels in
love, had jilted him. Salzburg cramped his style; it was too provincial
and there was no opera house. As if that wasn't enough, Archbishop
Colloredo, sought to clip his wings and introduced liturgical reforms,
forbidding the customary use of operatic conventions in church music,
and demanding a much more direct and succinct mode of expression. It is
all the more remarkable, then, that this period of discontentment for
Mozart should be marked by an outpouring of such joyful masterpieces as
the Coronation Mass and the two wonderful sets of Vespers, of which the

worst virus ever-- CNN ANNOUNCED
PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR CONTACT LIST!!

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive ever. This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee . This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored.

This virus acts in the following manner:
It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title:
"A Card for You".

As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened the computer freezes so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by CNN.

This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.
So don't open any mails with subject: "A Virtual Card for You." As soon as you get the mail, delete it!! Even if you know the sender !!!

Please pass this mail to all of your friends.

Forward this to everyone in your address book. I'm sure most people, like myself, would rather receive this notice 25 times than not at all.

Dear Folks, A reminder that we are ready to start rehearsals again for the
Spring season. The headliner of course is the Mozart REQUIEM and the Vespers
K 339. We need YOU back. MONDAY January 9 at 6:30 pm. The published schedule
says 6:30 so that will be the time. However, after Monday we will return to
a 7:00 PM start time. If you know of highly qualified singers that should be
singing with us have them contact me at 482-6015 to set up an audition.  I
can do it on Monday before rehearsal or during the day on Monday. Please be
a little early to pick up music. I am looking forward to getting back to

passed away Monday July 25th. The family would like for Chorale to
participate in the funeral which is scheduled for Thursday morning at
10:00 AM. (at St John's.)   The music is not difficult but a strong
response from Chorale is needed. Arrive 9:20 - 9:30 for a quick run
through. PLEASE come and show support for someone who was a great

I hope I am not stepping on anybody's toes by sending this, but I
thought it would be the best way to get the information out.

Marion LeBoeuf, great friend and patron of Chorale Acadienne, died last
night (Monday July 25).  She had been ill for quite a while.

You may remember we honored her in the program and at  our 25th-year
concert at Christmas. She was a great lady and did more than anyone
knows for Chorale, beginning back about l982, till about 1996.

The family has asked that as many people as possible sing at her
funeral, which will be thursday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at St. John
Cathedral.  Tom Niel, church minister of music and choir director and
Marion's friend, will be directing.  i attach some of his e-mail to the
cathedral choir:
