Hello Chordbusters,
I have had an email from Kirk Trevor and he says we are to be
rehearsing with him on Mon., July 1, presumably at the First Baptist
Church where we both rehearse. The time is 7:00pm. We will be
rehearsing with him and the singers only on this evening. On Fri.,
July 5 at noon, we will rehearse with the orchestra at the Missouri
Theatre.
The last piece of music - God Bless America - is also available at
the Missouri Symphony Society office at the Missouri Theatre. Stacy
is the secretary in charge of handling that music. I picked up the
Sweet Adeline's copies the other day. I assumed Kirk had let Chuck
know that the music was there - maybe he didn't? Just give them a
call to pick yours up. The other titles that we are singing as a
group are: Battle Hymn, Salute to Armed Forces, America the
Beautiful, and Cohan Medley (this one looks like a men's arrangement
as the soprano or tenor looks too high for women to sing comfortably -
so we may have to do some improvising of parts. Kirk is aware of
this and it's OK with him).
We are having 14 or 15 Sweet Adelines sing and are singing Great Day
and Ev'ry Street's a Boulevard for our own 5 minute spot. They'll
need to know what you are singing also so they can put it in the
program, if you haven't already let them know. We are wearing our
bright blue competition outfits. We're getting anxious to see what
it will all sound like, aren't you?
I may not have all of your email addresses included, so will you pass
on this information to all of your members that are singing for this
performance, please?
Thanks!
In harmony,
Marj
