URBAN GOSPEL ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF IT'S NEW WEBSITE
Gospel Organization Strives To Empower Those Who Bring Light To The Streets
Oakland, California - August, 2003 - The Urban Gospel Alliance is pleased to
announce the launch of its website, www.urbangospelalliance.com, where you
will be able to find out all the 411 on what's happening in UGA and its
various chapters throughout the United States.
Established to provide a vehicle for alternative gospel artists to give a
voice to their ministry, UGA will be a source of encouragement and support
for its members which represent contemporary gospel, holy hip hop, spoken
word, comedy, Christian jazz, reggae, and R&P, all with the same purpose,
strengthening their ministries and winning souls to Christ.
UGA's purpose is to broaden gospel music's reach into the streets and show
youth in all communities, especially in the urban and inner-city areas, that
there is an alternative to the negative music currently in the mainstream
market place. It will work to help its represented artists take their
message and their ministries into the areas where it is needed most.
One of the other goals of the UGA is continue to breed mutual understanding
between the church and alternative gospel entertainment. One of the ways it
will be doing this is by creating relationships with churches in areas where
chapters are established and hold free monthly concerts in different
churches in the hope that the message will begin to become clearer?there is
a need and a place for alternative gospel entertainment in the church and
the community.
At www.urbangospelalliance.com you will find current information on events
happening in existing chapters throughout the country and the UGA Urban
Gospel Industry Awards to be held during the UGA Music and Entertainment
Conference in July 2004. The UGA Industry Awards will recognize gospel
entertainers from all non-traditional genres, from contemporary gospel to
comedy, nominated by the general public.
