Christian music for modern times

For young people playing rock 'n' roll music, image can be both a blessing and a
curse.
The music was once widely considered a decadent and corrupting influence
practiced in dingy basements and dirty garages by delinquents rebelling against
their parents' values.
But as rock 'n' roll came to define popular music in our culture, it began
reaching people from all walks of life — even those walking in the steps of
their divine savior.
Christian rock, or contemporary Christian music as is it is labeled in the music
industry, has been around for years. Yet it, too, suffers from an image problem.
To many with only a passing familiarity with the genre, Christian rock conjures
up images of white-shoed rock 'n' roll played by clean-cut kids in matching
sweater vests.
