Dear Kris,
Our daughter Sara is 18 now, and just got a job with the local bank. I
remember as if it was yesterday when we discovered her major defect -
Transposition of the Great Arteries - and her surgery. My heart goes out to
you all, dear sister, and I will uphold you in prayer. Dear ones, know that
the Lord Himself is with you, He has gone ahead to prepare the way, and He
follows along behind as your rear guard. He will guide the hand of the
Surgeon and the Team!
Sara's surgery was an old style op - technology has moved on so much. We
knew that she'd have problems at this stage, and we're now awaiting an
appointment next week (13th) with the only cardiologist for adult survivors
with congenital heart defects, in Scotland.
For the rest of the gang - please uphold Kris and the family. Believe me,
the trauma of this is overwhelming; one quickly gets to the place where the
emotions are so overwhelmed that you cannot think, read or pray yourself.
Uphold our dear sister and the family. Also, please remember Sara for next
week; ask that the Lord give wisdom to the Cardiologist, and courage to Sara
that she will face whatever is planned. She's terrified of more surgery; or
of invasive investigations.
Peace and blessings to you ass we celebrate the Babe born to be Saviour.
Brian

Subject: [Christian Pipers and Drummers] Hello!
Hello Family,
It's been way too long since I posted and I'm so sorry about that.
This has been one of those years of huge occasions for everyone and
our family is no exception. The recent highlights are our son
getting married at the end of September and our first grandbaby,
Lilee Jane, was born at the end of October. Frank and I are so happy
about gaining 2 new members to our family!
As a matter of concern, our Lilee Bean (as we lovingly call her) was
diagnosed with truncus arteriosis last Wednesday 11/28 and is now at
Stanford/Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA
awaiting open heart surgery. As you can imagine, we felt like we had
been gut punched when we heard the news. After getting through our
initial shock, the Lord started bringing the comfort and peace we
needed to help us trust Him more and walk confidently with Him
through Lilee's surgery. Her surgery is tomorrow, 12/5, and I'd
appreciate your prayers for her and our family.
Our Christmas this year will be quiet. We'll be celebrating Jesus'
birth and all He did to secure our healing. So how about the rest of
you?
Let's keep in touch. We do serve an awesome God!
Humbly in Him,
Kris
