Hi all,
Blessings for 2008........
Sorry I have not updated you on Sara's progress since before Christmas.
Things have been hectic at work, with the suicide of a colleague in the
neighbouring Practice in the Health Centre in October, and the serious
illness (brain haemorrhage) of a wife of another Partner - one of our joint
Community Nursing Team. Wow, stress all over. But, the Lord allowed me the
privilege of praying over all the staff before the funeral (only 2 or 3
believers amongst 60+ people). Something which many have thanked me for.
So, to Sara. She saw a completely new Consultant Cardiologist in Glasgow
just before Christmas. He was recommended to me by a friend in the UK's
pre-eminent heart hospital - The Royal Brompton in London. He did his
specialist training there, and is highly thought of.
He was excellent with Sara - what a breath of fresh air. Friendly,
informative, a human being with a degree, rather than a degree dressed in a
white coat. He agreed that she should be more able than she is, and ha
organised a raft of further tests. He was guardedly positive about Sara
having a family, though he did not leave her with any false hopes. She came
out of the clinic positively beaming. The tests will take place over the
coming months, then he will review her in June/July.
So guys and gals, thanks for your prayer support in the matter.
On another note, those of you who have been in the Forum for a while know I
have raised the idea of a Clan Gathering of the Christian Pipers and
Drummers from across the world. I have made a preliminary suggestion to Dr
Keith MacDonald, of The Church Piper fame; a founding member of the IFCPD
from way back.
1810 saw the first Duke of Sutherland and his Factor, Peter Sellars, begin
one of the most notorious of the Highland Clearances. He emptied Sutherland
over the next 9 years, to make way for his sheep. Terrible atrocities were
committed to do so.
I suggest a Clan Gathering somewhere on your side of the pond in 2010 -
gives us lots of time to prepare, and to save up for it! A long weekend
somewhere, with lots of piping: music seminars and spiritual teaching
seminars, plus lots of 'getting to know you' time! The theme could be on
forgiveness/healing. We could be selecting out some hymn tunes to learn
now, for a massed band together. Do we go for it? It'd need folks
Stateside to do the organising of the practical details, if we all felt that
it was a go!
Think about it and let's get some forum discussion going.
Brian

Subject: [Christian Pipers and Drummers] Merry Christmas!
Hi Gang!
Here we are again at Christmas...I can hardly believe it's been a
year since we last celebrated Jesus' birth. With all the activity in
everyone's lives, times flies, doesn't it?
We now have our Lilee Jane home from Stanford/Lucile Packard
Hospital and she is doing well. Still very sore but recovering
beautifully. She's now eating so well it won't be long until she
catches up to the weight she should be by now. Her Mom and Dad are
doing well too and greatly relieved.
We will be home this Christmas Eve and Day enjoying His Birthday
with our family. Although we were late in getting a small Christmas
tree up and a few festive decorations as well, we will enjoy the
rest of the season with a heart of gratitude for all He's done for
us this year. Our biggest gift this year is the good health of our
Lilee.
So, what's happening with all of you? Brian, how did your daughter's
appointment go with the cardiologist?
Enjoy every minute of this precious season of His birth and...
Merry Christmas!
XO
Kris
