Or Tuesday-- depending on when you get this message! lol
For the first time in weeks I have a clear inbox! And with the good fortune of
being off for the next three days, hopefully it will stay that way.
I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day! It was good food and time with the
family for me, and those are two of my favorite things.
Shout out to my girl Seria Mills who celebrated her birthday last week. Seria
is definitely one of my favorite people and by far the best Open Mic host in
Atlanta. In keeping with the tradition of great open mics, Seria has become a
great friend that I truly appreciate She even got me a gift at her party! THANK
YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I have a very very promising modeling career ahead and will be checking out
agencies and getting a photo shoot together over the next few days. In the
meantime, check out my new photos at www.myspace.com/redthemodel

Lastly, everyone, fight for your dreams, and do what ever you have to do to
make them come true, even if you have to do it alone. I have learbed over the
past few years that no one is going to give you anything. Sometimes those that
you have even supported and helped over the years will pass you over for
opportunities. Take it all in stride, and use the gifts that God has given you.
It will all come together in time.
Much Love!

Vino Libro
Monday Night
933 Garrett Street Atlanta, Ga.
Nfared Reporting
Sometimes you just need somewhere to chill out. Listen to some laughter, watch
the game, eat, and have some really good wine. There are several of these spots
in Atlanta, but few have the feel of Vino Libro.
Located on the south east side of Atlanta near Southside High School, Vino
Libro is not one of those places where you have to dress a certain way to get in
and people aren’t starring at you to see whether or not you’re wearing the
latest kicks. Vino is sexy enough to make you feel good, and laid back enough
for you to feel comfortable if you’re just falling through after work and
haven’t had time to change, or if you really just feel like looking nice. Monday
nights feature the “Bottomless Wine Glass”. In a nutshell it’s as much wine as
you can drink for twenty bucks. Yup, twenty bones!! On my visit this past
Monday, the Atlanta Hawks were playing the Celtics, people were eating and
working (they have Wi Fi for those who are addicted to the net like me), and the
setting was perfect. Low lighting, sofa setting, and, if it’s possible, just the
right amount of noise. I was writing a new poem (you know I’m a spoken word kat
right?!) and was able to complete the piece and even
spent a little time practicing it without the noise being a factor. Of course
that could have also had something to do with the wine. Vino Libro’s wine
selection includes some of the best wine that you may have never heard of. I
don’t know that much about wine, but I do know that the variety is enough to
keep you going. I was working on Rieslings and every time I thought I had found
one I like, there was another and another. I finally settled on the New Age,
which is more of a blend than a Riesling (I’m learning!).
Vino Libro closes at midnight, but what I have found is that the staff there
is willing to let people stay as long as they like. At about 11 my good friend
Seria Mills walked in with a few of her friends, and conversation and laughter
(and a preview of my new poem) ensued up until about one in the morning. It was
a great evening, and the Hawks even beat the Celtics to tie the series 2-2.
Whether the Hawks are playing or not though, a return to Vino Libro on a Monday
night is inevitable.
***** (5 of 5 stars) The perfect venue!!
