JAN. 17 AT NETTWERKAMERICA.COM OR NETTWERK.COM
LOS ANGELES/VANCOUVER, Jan. 15 - Fans of Delerium can download
various vocal and instrumental tracks (as well as an MP3 of the
original song) from "After All," the first single from Delerium's
forthcoming release "Chimera" (release date: May 20, 2003) as part of
a remix contest beginning Jan. 17 that will afford the winning
remixer a spot on the commercial release of "Chimera."
The contest to remix "After All," will remain open until Feb. 14 at
5:00 pm pst, at which time all treatments of the recording will be
reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of the members of Delerium
and representatives of Nettwerk America (US) and Nettwerk Productions
(Canada). The winning remixer will be announced on Feb. 28 and will
have his or her remix featured on the bonus disc that will
accompany "Chimera."
Delerium, a.k.a. Bill Leeb, has sold over one million records
worldwide, with 500,000 sold in the U.S. alone. With "Chimera," the
band's fourth release on Nettwerk, the tradition of featuring
established and emerging guest vocalists continue. Featured
on "Chimera," are Julee Cruise (best known for her work with Angelo
Badalamenti), Sixpence None The Richer's Leigh Nash (she also lent
her vocals to "Innocente" from Delerium's 2000 album, "Poem," which
landed in the Top 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance chart), and up and
coming vocalist Zoe Johnston (who has worked with Dido and Faithless
previously). Other successful collaborations include Matthew Sweet's
treatment of "Daylight," and of course Delerium's best known song:
the Sarah McLachlan led single "Silence," which topped dance charts
in the US, Canada, UK, Belgium, Australia and Ireland.
Since the release of "Poem," Bill Leeb has been working on several
remix projects as well as recording for "Chimera," while album
collaborator and former Front Line Assembly partner, Rhys Fulber has
added another alias with Conjure One and the eponymous debut. Conjure
One's "Conjure One" has received critical accolades from numerous
publications including Mixer and URB, while the single "Tears From
The Moon" is currently at #6 on the Billboard Hot Dance chart and is
expected to go Top 5 later this week.
