Hey everyone. As you can see, I've promoted my music here in the
past and was just curious if anyone knows why the song "Clearly" got
so many downloads last week at http://music.download.com/3rdlane . I
haven't done any self-promotion in quite a long time and the
download totals at that site had grinded to a halt prior to this
week. Then out of nowhere I got over 600 downloads of one particular
song.
It's really weird, because in the past when I've done self-promotion
the songs are downloaded more evenly. I know that download.com is
really good about preventing abuse so that the download numbers are
accurate (i.e., one person can't download the same song 600 times
and get away with it because they record your IP address, location,
etc.). I'm wondering if it's possible that I got exposure at some
internet or local radio station or something like that. If anyone
knows what the deal is please let me know. My curiosity is killing
me, lol. I'm not sure when I'll get back to checking the responses
at these sites, so just contact me directly at
riverofdeceit3@... if you know anything. I'd really appreciate
hearing from anyone in the know. Thanks.
