FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
------------------------------------

Canadian Indy Band One Cross
Nominated for Rock/Alternative Album of the Year
------------------------------------

Canadian rock band One Cross's independent release Clearly Distorted has
been nominated for a Vibe Award for Album of the Year in the
rock/alternative category for the first annual Canadian Gospel People's
Choice Awards.

One Cross - Michael Cavallo (17), Shawn Cavallo (16), Dave Coulas (16) and
Mike Cavallo - hails from Mississauga, Ontario and is the only independent
band nominated in the category. Other bands nominated are Relient K,
downhere, Ten Shekel Shirt and Thousand Foot Krutch.

One Cross has been recording and performing in Canada and the US for more
than 5 years, since Michael and Shawn were 12 and 11 respectively. The band
was the regional winner of the 1996 Canadian Gospel Music Association talent
search. In 1999 they won the Kingdom Bound Talent Contest, making them the
youngest band to ever perform at the festival. They have toured extensively
in the region, opening for bands like J. Englishman, Skillet, Polarboy,
Broomtree and have made radio and television appearances throughout Canada.
The band has also been profiled in print media in both Canada and the US.

One Cross is set to release their fourth independent CD, Welcome to the Real
World, this June.

Nominations for the Vibe Awards were determined after extensive
consultations with Canadian djs, promoters, music executives, artists,
journalists, producers and program directors, who submitted their
recommendations for the best candidates in each category. The winners will
be determined based on the number of votes received at the online voting
site: www.soundsalive.org. Only one vote per email address will be allowed.

downhere Wins Juno Award

BAND ALSO NOMINATED FOR 2002 'NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR' DOVE AWARD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 17, 2002) - Word Records artist, downhere,
captured the coveted Juno Award for 'Best Gospel Album' from the
Canadian Recording Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for their
self-titled debut release this past Sunday evening.

Released in October 2001, downhere has also earned the band a 2002
Dove Award nomination for 'New Artist of the Year'. 'Larger than
Life,' the first single from the album quickly climbed the Christian
radio charts and their new single 'Free Me Up' was just released to
Adult Contemporary (AC) Christian Hit Radio (CHR).

The annual Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the GRAMMYs, were
broadcast from St. Johns, Newfoundland and recognized a diverse group
of Canadian musical artists, including Diana Krall, Nickelback and
Jann Arden. The show was hosted by last yearís triple Juno Award
winners, The Barenaked Ladies.

The 33rd Annual Dove Awards will be held on April 25th at the Grand
Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN. Downhere will perform on the
telecast during one of the "New Artist" segments.

Having toured through 17 states, six Canadian provinces and Mexico
before signing a recording contract, downhere has fit naturally into
the fast pace of traveling and performing music from their self
titled debut album. The band originated with Marc Martel and Jason
Germain, two college roommates at Briercrest Bible College in
Caronport, Saskatchewan, Canada, later adding Jeremy Thiessen and
Glenn Lavender to complete the group. In addition to their Juno Award
and a nomination for the 'New Artist of the Year' Dove, downhere has
already captured trophies from the Prairie Music Awards for 'Festival
Act of the Year' and 'Outstanding Contemporary Christian Album of the
Year' for their indie project released on Slyngshot Records in 1999.
The bandís loyal following also voted them 'Most Impressive New
Artist of 2001' on ccmcom.com, 'Top New Artist of the Year' and 'Top
Overall Album of the Year' on christianitytoday.com.

Word Records, a division of Word Entertainment, is a property of
Warner Music Group/AOL Time Warner, and heralds over fifty years of
music-making history. Word is headquartered in Nashville, TN.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2002 Vibe Award Winners:
Artist of the Year: Jake
Male Vocalist of the Year: Matt Brouwer
Female Vocalist of the Year: Carolyn Arends
Group of the Year: Jake
Song of the Year: Believer/Toby Penner & Eldon Winter/Jake
Rock/Alternative Album of the Year: downhere/downhere
Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year: Jake/Jake
Worship Album of the Year: Imagerical/Matt Brouwer

CALGARY, AB - Alberta's Penner brothers walked away with half of the
trophies at the first annual Canadian Gospel People's Choice Awards on
Saturday, May 11.
The event dubbed as the Vibe Awards drew an energetic crowd of 1,300
people to the city's Telus Convention Centre. It is scheduled to be
broadcast nationwide over the Vision TV network at the end of the month.
Brothers Toby, Marty and Josh, who form the contemporary Christian pop
group, Jake, were bestowed with the honors for Artist of the Year and Group
of the Year. Their self-titled CD was also picked as Contemporary/Pop Album
of the Year, while the hit single, Believer, written by Toby and album
co-producer Eldon Winter won as Song of the Year.
More than 2,500 people from throughout Canada participated in the
voting which was conducted over the Internet at www.soundsalive.org
In accepting the Juno-nominated band's first Vibe of the evening for
the song, Believer, which was featured prominently in the motion picture,
Left Behind, Toby excitedly proclaimed it was the first award ever given to
Jake.
"It's just really awesome that something I made up in my room on my
bed a couple of years ago matters to anybody and people get something out
of it," he said. "That's the whole fulfillment of doing what I do. So it
really means a lot."
But when Canada's top-selling Christian musicians received their
fourth award of the night, Toby said, "This is kind of silly. I don't know
what to say anymore."
"We don't deserve it," Marty added. "There's unbelievable artists here
tonight and we want to give respect to all of them. They're doing a
terrific job."
Nova Scotian Matt Brouwer, who received the most Vibe nominations with
five, ended up a double winner. He was chosen Male Vocalist of the Year and
his debut CD, Imagerical, triumphed as Worship Album of the Year.
Thanking the Lord "first and foremost," Brouwer said, "This is all
about Jesus. That's what this whole thing is about."
Brouwer, also a former Juno nominee, gave special tribute to
co-producers Eldon Winter and Steve Rendall, who are based out of Three
Hills, Alberta, home of the world-renowned Prairie Bible Institute.
Rendall's Harvest Music studio also produces Jake and was instrumental
in getting both artists signed to the prestigious American Christian music
label, Reunion Records.
In other awards, British Columbian Carolyn Arends was selected Female
Artist of the Year and the Saskatchewan band, downhere, won the
Rock/Alternative Album of the Year prize for their self-titled, major-label
debut on Word Records.
Audience members also voted following a pre-award ceremony showcase
where they selected Edmonton's Essence of Praise gospel choir as Best
Emerging Artist. The prize consisted of studio time with Rendall.
"We want to cultivate Canadian artists," explained organizer Dionne
Smith, executive director of SoundsAlive, which has held annual artist
showcases in Calgary since 1998.
"God has blessed this country with a wealth of musicians and singers,"
she said. "We need to validate them and we need to start in our own land."
Twenty different Canadian artists were in the running for the eight
Vibe awards handed out. Nominations were received by eight artists from
Ontario, five from British Columbia, three from Alberta, two from Manitoba
and one each from Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.
Artists who perfomed at the SoundsAlive awards and showcase included
Jake and Brouwer, along with 24 others, including former Juno nominees Mark
Masri, Lianna Klassen, the Toronto Mass Choir and Londa Larmond, who was
also up for a Dove this year.
Afterwards, Toby Penner was embraced backstage by his mother and
father as they huddled together for several minutes of prayer.
"We've taken a cue from Corrie ten Boom," explained Jake Penner,
speaking of the legendary Dutch author and Holocaust survivor. "When you
get a bouquet, a public bouquet, the thing to do with it is hold it up to
the Lord and offer it to Him, because now you have something to offer."
The family members also prayed that songs like Believer would continue
to have an impact and draw others to pray, "Lord, make me a believer."
Over the years, the name "Jake" was routinely passed on to successive
generations of sons in the Penner family. But after their parents decided
to stop the tradition, the three sons chose to collectively adopt it as the
moniker for their band.
The elder Jake emphasized the recognition and accolades his sons
receive are not what makes him proud of them. Even if they were the biggest
stars in the world, he said, "If they weren't walking with the Lord…my
heart would be grieved."
Preparations are already underway for the second annual Vibe Awards to
take place in Calgary on Saturday, May 10, 2003.

New Concert Site for Canadians - ConcertBuzz.com

Two established internet services are collaborating to provide
concert-going Canadians with up-to-date information. Canadian
Christian Concert Page (CCCP) and CrossCanadaSearch.com have launched
a new website called ConcertBuzz.com. "Buzz" is music industry lingo
for the excitement surrounding an event. The official launch date is
December 2, 2002.

ConcertBuzz.com features a concert listing of Canadian and nearby US
concerts. It also contains an artist links section and event
submission page.

David Leibold and CCCP will be providing all content services:
collecting, reviewing, verifying and editing concert information.
CrossCanadaSearch.com will be providing hosting, domain, graphics,
marketing, and advertising services.

Canadian Christian Concert Page (CCCP) has been providing information
on its webpage since 1994. Over its eight year history, CCCP has been
the place to go for information on concerts in Canada and the
northern US, and had thousands of visitors, and many contributors.

"Our approach is unique on the internet because each concert listing
is reviewed to ensure quality content," says CCCP editor David
Leibold. "ConcertBuzz.com will extend that tradition through the
advanced facilities of CrossCanadaSearch.com. That means visitors and
contributors to ConcertBuzz.com can look forward to enhanced
features. We look forward to a renewed service for Christian music
artists and those who support them."

CrossCanadaSearch.com is Canada's premier Christian search site,
providing exclusively Canadian Christian content in a Yahoo! type
directory format. CrossCanadaSearch.com has operated since August
1999, and had over 450,000 unique visitor sessions. The service is
operated by Charles Morrison of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, who
previously published CMB - Christian Music Bulletin, a print
newsletter which covered the Christian music scene in Canada.

"David and I collaborated on providing concert information over the
past 8 years," says Morrison. "With my success and expertise in the
areas of webhosting, domain names, and internet marketing, it seemed
a natural fit to collaborate and help grow CCCP. Especially, since it
was David that first introduced me to HTML." HTML is the basic
language of webpage programming.

Morrison indicates that the recent downturn in the Internet Stock
market hasn't really affected services like CrossCanadaSearch.com,
nor will it affect ConcertBuzz.com. "The internet shake-out has
really only affected those who thought they were going to make a
quick million. The internet has made it easier for anyone with good
content to publish it to select audiences."

Morrison runs several other sites including: CCBN.ca, an internet
advertising service that has delivered over 3 million advertisements
on Canadian Sites, JesusManitoba.com, AngelicHosts.com,
ChristianPortals.com, and others.

Canada's Gospel Vibe Awards 2003

The Vibe Awards weekend begins with a New Artist Showcase on Friday
evening, followed by an extensive seminar on Saturday from 8:30
a.m.-3 p.m. entitled Christian Music Industry Inside-Out. Both events
are being held at the city's Centre Street Church.

Voting for the Vibe Awards begins over the Internet at
www.vibeawards.ca and through the Blessings Christian Marketplace
bookstore chain on Friday, April 4.

Gospel music fans throughout Canada are each able to cast a
single ballot. The winners will be announced during ceremonies at
Calgary's Telus Convention Centre on Saturday, May 24 in a show
featuring 25 of the country's top gospel performers.

In all, 46 Canadian gospel artists and songwriters are
vying for the 14 Vibe Awards to be given out in 2003. Ontario boasts
the largest number of nominees with 18, followed by Alberta with nine
and British Columbia with six. Artists from every province except
Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland were nominated.

Last fall, 419 gospel music fans applied on the Vibe Awards web
site for the opportunity to become nominations judges. From this
list, a panel of 56 judges was randomly drawn with the prerequisite
that there was equitable representation from every region in the
country. The judges, ranging in age from 16 to 58, are comprised of
35 women and 21 men.

Tickets for the Vibe Awards can be purchased nationwide through
the Blessings Christian Marketplace store chain at 1-866-253-7739 or
over the Internet at www.blessings.com.

Extensive information is also available at www.vibeawards.ca.

IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATTENTION CANADIAN GOSPEL ARTISTS, PRODUCERS & COMPOSERS

NATIONAL GOSPEL AWARDS HITS TORONTO!
The Maja Awards Are Ready for Submissions

Toronto, ON March 28, 2003 -- The Maja Awards, home of Canada's National Gospel
Song Competition and Awards presentation are currently accepting submissions
from Canadian Artists until June 6th, 2003. The Nominee Showcases (which
includes a Children's Showcase) will begin in August 2003 and conclude with a
Grand Gala in Toronto, ON in December 2003.

Produced by GCI, this year's Maja Awards has launched the 'Canadian National
Gospel Song Competition', to inspire aspiring Canadian Gospel Artists to write
and produce their own music! "Gospel Music in Canada is a growing niche market.
What used to be solely viewed as Church music is pricking the hearts of a
Nation. By producing an event of this stature we will equip Non-Recording &
Recording Artists with a national platform to minister and grow in the arts."
states, Fitzroy Gordon, Founder of the Maja Awards.

The mandate of Maja Awards Organization is very strong, to proclaim the message
of Jesus Christ through Gospel music and help edify the young, professional and
veteran artists in the Canadian Gospel Community. All artists and composers are
encouraged to visit the Maja website for more information at
http://www.majaawards.com and or email them at info@... ( view flyer
