Looking For More Fractal Music Software   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #11762 of 11899 |
Greetings,

I run the free synthesizer manual site
http://www.soundprogramming.net. I've added a page listing fractal
music software, but it's pretty sparse, containing only applications
I've used (fmusic, gingerbread, poodles and flan, tangent). I'm
looking for more info on other fractal music applications, so if you
know of any please feel free to fill me in.

In addition to being a music geek, I'm also a C++/C# software
engineer. Since many of the oldschool fractal music apps are
unmaintained and/or no longer even have websites, I'd like to
volunteer my services maintaining the source code of any older
programs that aren't written in Visual Basic (sorry, I'm prejudiced --
lack of semicolons hurts my head) -- assuming any authors that
frequent this list are interested.

It's not exactly fractal, but I'm the author of AlgoRhythmia, a random
drumbeat generation application (see
http://www.zetacentauri.com/software_algorhythmia.htm). I've also
used some of the aforementioned software to compose some of the tunes
I've released as Bloodless Mushroom (see
http://www.bloodlessmushroom.com).

I've been a member of the list for quite a few years, but check in
rarely (mainly reading posts on the website, and even then not very
often). As far as I can tell a lot of the "good stuff" has been going
extinct, so I'd like to help keep it alive if possible.
