Greetings:

I know, I know....twice in one day but we have information from True
North to share on the War Child Peace Album. According to True North
Bruce rewrote a part of Going Down Slow and re-recorded the song for
this CD, which should be out on April 15, 2003. I think it's
interesting that Bruce thought of that tune given the current climate
in the world. The Cockburn News recently featured just that song.
One wonders what the new verse will have to say. They also sent along
this e-clipping from today's The Globe and Mail out of Toronto:

Cockburn, Lavigne sing out for peace
Friday, March 28, 2003 - Page R12

TORONTO -- Top Canadian performers including Avril Lavigne, Celine
Dion, Jarvis Church, Gord Downie, Bruce Cockburn, k-os, Our Lady
Peace, Chantal Kreviazuk, Bryan Adams and David Usher are among the
artists that will appear on Peace Songs, a double-CD that is being
rushed out to stores April 15 to benefit War Child Canada. Some have
re-recorded their own versions of classic songs about peace, while
others have developed new compositions fitting with the theme.

Kreviazuk has recorded Bob Marley's Redemption Song, Lavigne takes a
run at Bob Dylan's Knockin' on Heaven's Door, and Church offers a
version of U2's One.Other stars on the CD include Paul McCartney,
David Bowie, Moby and Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), who contributed to a
CD called Hope, developed by UK War Child. McCartney took time out
from rehearsing his upcoming European tour to record an exclusive
track.

"Whatever the politics, whatever the rights and wrongs of war,
children are always the innocent victims," said McCartney. "I am
delighted to be able to make this small contribution to a magnificent
project."

Peace Songs is a joint initiative between BMG Canada Inc., Sony Music
Canada and War Child Canada. "We are very concerned for the well-
being of Iraqi children and all innocent people caught in the
crossfire of war," said Samantha Nutt, executive director of War
Child Canada. "We are extremely grateful for the support of such
talented artists in our efforts."

"I'm once again grateful for the power of music and the integrity of
artists to help generate money for child victims of war," commented
Denise Donlon, president of Sony Music Canada.War Child Canada is a
registered Canadian charity dedicated to providing humanitarian
support to war-affected children around the world. Assistance
includes relief supplies, health care, education, rehabilitation and
psychological support for the young victims of war. One of War Child
Canada's partners in Iraq is the Karbala Children's Hospital.

And thank you for the floodlet of responses to this morning's
mailing....lots of good conversations have been started because of
it. One reader sent in another suggestion for a place to read and
find information...especially if you are peace-seeking and like
reading the truth about things:
