So it looks like the beginning of the European tour, for those of you
who have been asking!
In other news:
A very astute reader noticed that the US version of You've Never Seen
Everything (http://www.rounder.com/feature/cockburn/) and the
Canadian version (http://www.maplemusic.com/dept.asp?dept_id=1050) do
not share the same cover. The Cockburn Project checked this out with
Bernie Finkelstein who said:
"There is one cover for the world outside the US ...There is a
different cover in the US. Both graphics are in the package however.
The US company just happened to like the picture of Bruce better and
we were happy enough to oblige them as we liked it as well."
When interviewed earlier in the year, Finkelstein told us this about
the cover art:
"I can tell you that Micheal Wrycraft will be doing the cover. He did
Breakfast and AAA."
We have both covers featured on the You've Never Seen Everything page
at http://www.cockburnproject.net if you want to see them compared
one to the other.
Bernie also hinted that True North is looking into Australian dates,
though nothing is firm and nothing confirmed....so for those of you
Down Under....there's the 'whispering' you've been hoping for!
And ANOTHER interesting fact was gleaned checking out the 'two faces
of the album' theory, at the www.brucecockburn.com site you can now
order the "Christmas" album. I was innudated with mail about this
album last fall, and I know people were scrounging around in used cd
sites and on ebay trying to find this out of print. It's a GREAT
album, my all-time-favorite set of holiday songs and now you can buy
it again!
This in from Rounder:
They are welcoming webusers to add the link to their "You've Never
Seen Everything" page to their home pages
(http://www.rounder.com/feature/cockburn/). Users will be able to
receive the streaming video that will be hosted there in the coming
weeks as well as updates as they happen.
AND, for those of you in the Boston area, we received news about the
Newburyport tourdate from a reader:
The July 12th date in Newburyport is a FREE concert, open air, at
the annual Newburyport RIVERFEST.
The contact person for info about the July event is Jeff Hime at
Tele: 978-462-6680 at the Chamber of Commerce.
Accomodations are limited in Newburyport so you need early
reservations.
The Chamber can get info to you. Or see:
http://www.newburyportchamber.org/
There are plenty of accomodations in nearby Portsmouth New Hampshire
a 15 minute drive away.
See: http://www.portcity.org/
Or Route 1 north of Boston. see:
http://www.northshorechamber.org/intltrade.htm
There will be limited parking but shuttle busess available. Bring
plenty of water and portable shade. Last year it was over 90 degrees.
Hope this helps Cockburn fans throughout New England and Montreal
which is only a 6 hour drive away.
I guess that's it for this issue of The Cockburn News.
Peace,
Suzanne Myers
