Greetings:
I hope the changing seasons are pleasant for all. In my neck of the
woods the days grow shorter, but the colors that the trees have become
seem to come in colors that would be hard to imagine otherwise, so I
guess that makes up for it.
I have just a couple 'tid-bits' to pass along from readers who thought
other readers would enjoy hearing them. The first is from a friend of
the Project who's a frequent contributor. While researching a
favorite guitarist, Don Ross, this interesting quote by Bruce was
found. It's interesting to learn who Bruce listens to and that he's
obviously impressed with Ross's playing style.
Bruce comments on Don Ross's fantastic playing in the liner notes from
his latest CD "Robot Monster" (named with the help of his young
daughter and after his favourite 50's B movie)
"Nobody does what Don Ross does with an acoustic guitar. He takes the
corners so fast you think he's going to roll, but he never loses control.
Guitar players take note; the wizardry on these tracks will inspire
the brave--and send the faint of heart running for cover." Bruce
Cockburn, 2003
The reader attests that Don Ross is awe inspiring with his speed and
style on his custom made guitars. They caught up with Don at the
First Annual Canadian Guitar Festival in their small home town of
Odessa last month.
You can learn more about Don Ross by going to his official web-site.
www.gobyfish.com There is nothing conventional about Don Ross, he
breaks all the rules and leaves you astounded! To learn more about
the Canadian Guitar Festival the web-site is

Another reader had this interesting tid-bit:
On August 28, 2004 Bruce was interviewed by Drew Marshall live via
telephone on The Drew Marshall Show on Joy 1250 AM (CJYE) out of
Oakville, Ontario. The interview is available online from The Drew
Marshall Show Website
http://www.drewmarshall.ca.
Reader's contributions are how The Cockburn Project was created, so
folks, keep those contributions coming in!
Peace,
