Greetings:
Happy New Year from all of us at The Cockburn Project, to all of you,
our readers. Let's hope that this is a fruitful year in the progress
towards all things peaceful.
In November 2006 Bob Gersztyn of FolkWax ezine published an interview
he did with Bruce Cockburn. FolkWax has granted the CockburnProject
permission to reprint that interview in its entirety. You can read
the interview on our frontpage at: http://www.cockburnproject.net.
Thanks to the reader who sent in that link and to Bobbi Wisby for
getting it all together for us.
We've also had many readers send in setlists, pictures and other
archival information about gigs both recent and not-so-recent. You
can read all of that information in the 'setlists' section of The
Cockburn Project.
For those of you new to The Cockburn Project, it's a communal effort
to gather together information about the songs, albums and causes that
Bruce works on. It was created from the contributions of readers,
like you! If you have tapes or recordings of concerts and want to
transcribe Bruce's exact comments about the songs, issues of the day,
or??? please send them to me at: editor@... and I'll
make sure they get sent along to the proverbial 'queue' for inclusion
on The Cockburn Project. If you have photos, scans of tickets or the
setlist from a particular gig, send those along to:
setlists@.... People also send links to Internet
radio shows featuring Bruce and all sorts of other 'Bruce-a-belia' to
share. Our thanks goes out to all who have contributed, because
without you, we would not keep growing!
We also receive support from True North and Rounder Records, Bruce's
management and US record company, so the tourdate information is often
"newer than new". If you call the venue and they don't seem to know
anything about the concert, just wait, in a couple weeks they will!
:-) There are new tourdates added and you can see them in the
'tourdates' section.
**In a recent email from True North they noted there are no special
guests for the March 20 show at Tralf Music Hall. Bruce is playing
solo, all the shows are solo. The March 23 show is now confirmed in
Washington. And there is no news on touring Australia right now.
[Readers from Australia please note, I keep asking!]
I borrowed this post from our Cockburn Musician's group, I thought
you'd all be interested:
There's a large archive of concert material amassed by the late Bill
Graham now being made available for listening.
If you're interested in checking it out go to:

click on "performers" and navigate your way to Bruce
Cockburn. Enjoy!
Once again, Happy New Year.
Peace,
Suzanne Myers
