Greetings:

Thanks to a Cockburn Project reader we can pass along the following
information from Jenny Scheinman's website at
www.jennyscheinman.com/:

jenny scheinman

12-02-2008 19:00 at Barbes: Jenny Scheinman and Bruce Cockburn
376 9th St at 6th ave park slope brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York
Cost: $10 minimum donation

JS (vocals/violin) BC (vocals/guitar/stringed things) Its a great
honor to be doing such an intimate show with Bruce Cockburn, the great
singer songwriter guitar player activist poet voice. Download
"Beautiful Creatures" - its my favorite song in the world right now.

The reader submitted this information from Jenny:

Tuesday, December 2 at Barbes 7-9PM 76 9th St (corner of 6th Ave)
Park Slope 718 965 9177 www.barbesbrooklyn.com

One of the records I listened to obsessively in college was Bruce
Cockburn's "Dancing In The Dragon's Jaw". I lost track of him for
years and then recently ran into him backstage at Town Hall. As it
turned out he had just been listening to my recent recordings - I
think he's one of the few people that has listened to every one..
When I got home I downloaded some of his recent music and it all
came rushing back. He's tremendous. One of the great voices,
writers, melody makers, lyricists. He has released 26 recordings
and has won almost every award one can win in music. My current
favorite-song-ever is his "Beautiful Creatures". We'll do a mix of
his musicand mine (some new ones!), instrumental and vocal. This is a
special one.

The reader also notes:

Just got this from violinist Jenny Scheinman, born and raised in
Petrolia, CA,and now living in Brooklyn. I was fortunate enough to see
her w/ Rodney Crowell and Joe Henry in SF last week. An amazing
talent. When she's home, she plays in this little bar/club/cafe that
is incredibly intimate. It only holds 50-60 people, tops, so it might
be the smallest venue that Bruce has played in years. My only regret
is that I live 3,000 miles away. Sure to be an incredible night!

So, for those of you in/near The Big Apple....enjoy!

This gig has been confirmed by Bruce's management as well.

Peace,
Suzanne Myers
