Greetings!
All sorts of bits and pieces of information to share, so read on!
True North announced another new date this week:
Aug 02 Portland ME Merrill Auditorium
The Navy Pier, Chicago tix should go on sale June 15th, as per True
North as well.
True North also offered The Cockburn Project this news release to
share with our readers:
Bruce Cockburn Television Appearances and Magazine Covers
Toronto, ON -- On July 1, 2002 Global television will air "Canada's
Walk of Fame," featuring the Canadians who were inducted into the
Canadian Walk of Fame on May 28, 2002.
Among those honoured was Canadian painter Alex Colville, whose "Horse
and Train" was featured on Bruce Cockburn's 1973 release "Night
Train." [editor's note: they mean Night Vision] In celebration of
his induction, Cockburn performs a beautiful instrumental which he
composed as a tribute to Colville's induction.
CBC Network will air the hour long Life & Times of Bruce Cockburn, on
July 16, 2002. This is an intimate one-hour documentary exploring the
life, music, passion , and inspiration of this Canadian music icon.
From his early days as an aspiring musician to his recent induction
into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Bruce Cockburn's 30-year career
has touched the hearts and challenged the minds of listeners around
the world.
Cockburn will also be on the cover of the summer issues of "Sing
Out," and "Dirty Linen," two of America's largest acoustic music
magazines. Both of these magazines are also widely available in
Canada.
Editor Audrey Pearson reports: Ron Sexsmith will be opening for Bruce
in Vancouver. Ron live in concert will be broadcast on DNTO CBC
Radio One, this Saturday at 4pm. My guess is cbc.ca is on Toronto
time (ie EDT). But http://vancouver.cbc.ca is on Pacific time. And
http://calgary.cbc.ca is on Mountain time and so it goes. Give him a
listen if you want to check him out before you go to the show in
Vancouver.
Editor David Newton has added a bunch of new updates to the
setlists. He's now adding a notation so you can see which dates have
setlists already in place. This should help for when you are
searching to see if a setlist exists or not. Thanks, David!
Keep watching the front page of The Cockburn Project at
http://cockburnproject.net for an interview Nigel Parry did with Andy
Milne...that should be appearing any time now!
That's it from here.
Peace,
Suzanne Myers
