Greetings:

True North announced this week that www.brucecockburn.com is up and
running. It's a great new resource for Bruce fans with some
wonderful features. True North considers The Cockburn Project as a
fitting 'partner'and links to us on the site as well. They have
assured us that they will continue to offer us up-to-the-minute news
to offer our readers.

True North also reported that Bruce is busy in the studio working on
a new album to be released in the spring (possibly May) of 2003.
Bernie Finkelstein told The Project that Bruce is currently working
on the new record but will be taking a short break to do the November
shows. The plan is to finish the record in December and when it is
released the expectation is that Bruce will hit the road and do quite
an extensive tour that should take him to much of the US and
hopefully to many other parts of the world as well.

Bruce's show on November 25 in Winnipeg MB at the Pantages Playhouse
is a benefit for the David Suzuki Foundation and is part of The Human
Element Tour. David Suzuki will visit six Canadian cities in November
and December. Each multimedia event will feature David Suzuki, an
exclusive video presentation, special musical performances by some of
Canada's top musicians, and much more! Tickets for this show are
available as follows, please note that seating is limited:

Winnipeg - November 25 Pantages Playhouse
180 Market Avenue

Concert for A Landmine Free World Tour Announced
Singer-Songwriters Support Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation's
Global Humanitarian Programs

WASHINGTON, DC (October 2, 2002) - This year's Concerts for A
Landmine Free World will bring together four extraordinary artists in
a series of intimate unplugged performances to raise money for, and
awareness of, the global landmine crisis. Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin
Carpenter, Bruce Cockburn and Patty Griffin will share the stage in
this tour of five Southeast cities between November 6th - 10th,
performing in Raleigh, Asheville, Atlanta, Knoxville and Birmingham.
Presented for the fifth time in four years, this critically acclaimed
musical event features "…the best singer-songwriters of the past
quarter century… it was a thrill to see them, sitting shoulder to
shoulder, swapping song and stories… each individual performance
was
wonderful." Boston Herald

All proceeds of the Concerts for A Landmine Free World will benefit
programs of the Washington, DC - based Vietnam Veterans of America
Foundation (VVAF) that assist civilian victims of conflict around the
world, and its work to raise American public awareness of the global
landmine crisis.

"Global events and the war on terrorism in the post-September 11th
climate have made the landmine issue more topical to the American
public," said Bobby Muller, president of VVAF and co-founder of the
1997 Nobel Peace Prize-winning global campaign to ban landmines. "The
lift these artists give to our cause, and the direct benefit to our
overseas work is just tremendous."

Beginning in 1998, VVAF's Concerts for a Landmine Free World have
brought their message and unique acoustic, in-the-round format across
the U.S., Canada and Europe. Emmylou Harris launched these concerts
after accompanying Muller on a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. As a
result of her experience, she embarked on an effort to recruit other
musicians to the cause to raise public awareness and consciousness.
All of these critically-acclaimed artists on the November tour have a
history of supporting the landmine cause, including visiting VVAF's
clinics in Southeast Asia, composing songs about the issue, and
donating time and money to speed the rehabilitation of the victims.

VVAF is dedicated to achieving global security through programs that
not only reduce the worldwide threat posed by war and conflict but
also promote justice and freedom. VVAF's international humanitarian
programs assist innocent civilian victims of war and conflict in 14
war-torn countries by providing physical and social rehabilitation
services as well as identifying landmine clearance and other public
health priorities. For more information on VVAF, and to see a
complete list of singer-songwriters who support our cause, please
