Isn't this what Chris Farlowe said when he retired?

Personally I decided a long time ago to judge musicians by what they
did, not what they say.
They are a funny lot.
Status Quo retired in 1979, I think (my friend went to 'the last
concert they would ever play' about that time). Fairport convention
had a one off reunion after they decided to split. I think it must
be coming up to 30 years of 'post splitting up one off annual re-
unions', soon.
Still, if JH decides to stay in the studio and restore all their old
master tapes, that is fine by me as there are a lot of amazing
things in their back catalogue I'd like to hear again. I only had
one of my favourite Paraphenalia albums on cassette. Decades old, it
has finally become all but unplayable and hasn't been available for
many years. If JH can get it and other archive stuff re-issued (even
Bread and Circusses is now unavailable!)then that is time well
spent, although I'd be suprised if he didn't take to the stage with
his drums again at some point in the near future. I kind of get the
impression that, whatever he says, he quite likes it...
