hey Mark,
the best place to find out more is to hit the
source: Mark Wright at AccuGroove. the website is
http://www.accugroove.com if you want pics, specs,
testimonials, and the like. Mark is the coolest guy
and a working bass player to boot. he has pics of his
basses up on the site, too!
the El Whappo is a wild idea. it's a 4-way speaker
with eash driver enclosed in its own box within the
bigger cab. the configuration has a 15" for the lows,
a 12" for the mids, a 6" for the highs, and a pair of
1" tweeters for the super highs. you would not believe
the sound of this thing!
I've owned and used Guild-Hartke cabs and SWR
stuff, too. I've played through Hughes & Kettner,
BagEnd, Ampeg, and maybe a dozen other high end
brands. I have *NEVER* heard anything that comes close
to the fidelity and frequency coverage of this thing!
it really is like I plugged into a D.I.! I have a
blurb up at the AccuGroove site, though, on the
'Artists' page if you want to get something a little
more articulate. my buddy Greg talks about his, too.
what's really sick is that this is only *half* of
the speaker system! Mark's building me a custom sub
with a 21" driver: the Whappo Grande! it should arrive
sometime next month. you can believe I'll give you the
lowdown (no pun intended) on that bad boy once it gets
here...
from the depths,
Stew
