New guy need advice re GT7 vs. GTBD7 please help   Message List

Hello everyone,
I'm new here. I quit playing over 20 years ago because trying to
squeeze the Bach Cello Suites on my Daion 4 string was too
frustrating. Now, I'm an old guy and want to play for my own
pleasure.. mainly solo chamber music. I would like a GTBD7 but I
really can't (SHE won't let me) stretch that far. I've found some very
reasonable barely used GT7s, so my questions is how do they compare? I
was a guy who 20 years ago swore he would never own a bolt-on, but I
can see construction technology has changed. If anyone could help me:
is the sustain noticeably different? comfort of playing? Durabilty and
neck stability over a period of years? Please if anyone could give a
detailed informed comparison that would help. If I have to, I am
prepared to save my $$ for up to year to get GTDB7 rather than GT7.
Any help from members would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks everyone,
Tosh

Actually they both have 16.5mm spacing if memory serves correctly. The spacing at the Bridge is the same but the nut is tighter on the GTBD-7. It's been awhile...
