There is an instrument that I recall also being called a dulcijo. It has a short 3rd string and regular length 1 and 2. Played like a banjo with the bum
I think the dulcijo playing is done in a strumming style, using a flat pick or strum with your thumb or finder nails. A 5-string has a high g 5th string
