Yesterday I got a mail from a friend who is doing a research on the song
"That silver haired Daddy of mine".

The version he is looking for is the following:



THAT SILVER HAIRED DADDY OF MINE by Jimmy Long and Cliff Keiser

This was recorded 8 months before Jimmy and Gene Autry recorded their
version.
It was released on Gennett-Champion 16190 and Decca-Champion 45089
Also it was released on Gennett Superior 2632 as by Joe Lester and Bud Moss.

It has become more important to find this version because a recording made a
week before Gene and Jimmy's by Dick Robertson on Victor has some different
lyrics in it. Now it's a matter of finding out if they were the original
lyrics or changed by Robertson who learned his version my mis-hearing the
earlier recording.
