It was a Sunday , year 1997 , we major finals in Med school, yet something was happening that day, something that pulled me away from my books and studies, and sent to the street, to greet the person that brought peace and love with Him where ever he went, It was Pope John Paul II visiting Lebanon, All Lebanon, in all his cofessions and religions was there greeting that man in white, millions of people were on the streets and more than a half of a million were waiting for him for a mass in the Martyrs Square , where he called it the “Square of freedom” , every one was there, listening to the man, who will be the first one to stand against the war against Iraq after few years, and the one who will insist on visiting the Palestinian camps and synchronize the mass and the noon prayer in the holy lands on that day, the man that will be the first Pope to Pray in a Mosq in the great Ummayat Mosq, that man brought Joy to us, and now he is gone, after being a great man, Lebanon announced national mourning  on this Man for 3 days, and while I was looking in my old papers and newspapers I found a rare photo of Fairouz  when she was attending the mass that he held in Beirut that day , and I thought I would share this photo with you , not of very good quality I know, along with a phot that I mad as tribute to this great man, but I know that Fairouz took a photo with him in the Vatican if any one has it please send it to the group.
