Hi everybody,

I'm new here. First sorry for my bad english, I'm french. I'm a big
Yardbirds and Renaissance fan.
I put a radio on my website where you can hear a lot of songs of the
Yardbirds, but also songs
that they have recorded solo (Jim McCarty blues band, Renaissance,
Armageddon, Shoot, The Firm,
BBA etc.)

No Mp3 download, sorry. You can just listen to the songs, but some of
you are maybe interested in
listening to heavy to find music like Shoot.

To listen to the radio, go there : http://www.rock6070.com
Click on the Yardbirds foto, than choose what you want to hear :

- The Yardbirds
- The Yardbirds solo

Enjoy !

I've noticed that no one seems to have the "Little Games" demo
sessions bootleg...here's what it features:

Label: Outrider # OR-9802012, 2 CD
Date: 1967
Recording: 2 CD, Excellent-Soundboard 10
all Tracks feat. Jimmy Page,
AWESOME - A MUST HAVE
this thing has such a GREAT Sound I have to give a 11 :-)

Disc 1: Little Games, Puzzles, No Excess Baggage, Smile on me,
Drinking Muddy Water, Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor, De Lane Lea Lee
(take 1+2), White Summer, Stealing Stealing, I remember the night,
Only the black Rose, Glimpses, Little Soldier Boy, Never Mind
Disc 2: You stole my Love ( Take 1 -15), LSD (Take 1-3), Ten Little
Indians ( Takes 1 - 15),

We should find a way to track this down somehow...it's considered
a real rarity for Yardbirds fans....

they consider Eddie Phillips (Creation) Jim said he thought that

There are actually 4 cds so far of Little Games demos sessions. 2
that have been released on bootleg from Japan and two other cds worth
of material. I will say that for the most part the sessions went
very quickly with Mickey Most insisiting on going on to the next
track without letting the band hear play backs. Page even says can
we hear that and Most goes on to the next track Smile on me. Little
Games is my all time favorite studio album by the Yardbirds. If only
they were permitted to work on the concept for say even a little
while longer and given time to finish some of the tracks correctly.
But we do have the excellent 2 cd set of released material. The
other sessions only reveal more studio banter, slight different mixes
and takes but sticking to what we all know.

Found this on official website

With Gypie Mayo deciding to leave the Yardbirds after a great period
of re-establishing the band which culminated with the recording
of "Birdland" the first studio album for thirty five years, it felt
like how do the Yardbirds replace, yet again, another brilliant and
truly original lead guitar player. We wanted to continue because the
music is so strong and the feeling is that the material on
the "Birdland" album had still not been given its full run. It has
become a tradition that some very creative guitarists have passed
through the band, so to carry on we knew we could only work with
someone who not only possessed the technique but was also of a high
inspirational calibre. We auditioned with some very fine players but
unfortunately the magic ingredient was missing, then out of the blue
came the surprise that Jerry Donahue was into joining the band. His
reputation is huge and although he is mostly known for playing in a
different genre to that of the Yardbirds his projects and recording
credits are mind blowing, an audition with him was not to be missed!

Jim McCarty. "I remember Paul Samwell-Smith telling me about Jerry
some years ago when he was working with the Fairport Convention
guys. I thought he was going to be a folksy country style player
until I heard him rip into a slide solo on "Back Where". He looks a
bit like Clapton, but certainly has the technique to match all the
former guitarists!"

Chris Dreja. "At the rehearsal when Jerry put his interpretation
into some of the Yardbirds material I just instantly knew that he
would be absolutely right for the band. He has that lateral
approach, that so few players have, which is so exciting because you
know that the material will get another original twist every time
you perform it. Gerry is also a Fender Telecaster top exponent, a
guitar that both Beck and Page did some of their best work with the
Yardbirds. It's a unique sound in the right hands."

The Yardbirds now have another outstanding member in Jerry Donahue
and we are really enthused about performing and bringing the music
to audiences with him in the band.

Check Jerry out on www.hellecasters.com/JDonahue/jdon.htm

So far I dont see anything in Canada. Looks like they are doing a
short German tour then some UK gigs that will take them till the end

I'll try and get some kind of idea if a U.S. tour is going to happen

I have a live CD that gives no info--it states it's at the "Marquis"
Club ( I assume that means Marquee) It is Page era--they
do "Statesboro Blues" "Bring it on Home to Me" and "Cute Little Woman"
along with some of the more obvious numbers. Any info would be
helpful. THis particular copy is titled "zzzzzzzzzzzzz live at the
marquis" (the cover shows someone sleeping)

Does anyone know of a way to get this CD? It may be the same one
referred to in a different post. Feel free to me mail me off board if
you know where this is available.....or any other live shows for that
matter
