Well the foremost piece of news is, of course, that there is news. Neat eh??? Alright. So the scoop is that Uneven Ground had some lengthy, nearly terminal, downtime in 2001, but is about to explode onto the scene all over again in 2002, with the "Answers Breed Questions" tour this spring. The gist of what's going on is that UG lost a couple of members, nearly acquired some more members, didn't, gave up trying, got a new singer, and are back, in a BIG way!!
ANNOUNCING THE NEW UNEVEN GROUND FRONTMAN: Local underground scene veteran Dave McPherson has taken the spot of lead vocals in Uneven Ground. He has nailed the tunes from Arkona Fairway and the band will be performing them as new material is perfected and prepared for the summer tour. Dave has an amazing voice and an amazing story. Be sure to talk to him when you see the band next.
Spring Tour: This tour will be the last big push in support of Arkona Fairway, the band's debut CD. Expect lots of great cover tunes, a powerful stage show and sneak previews of some of the new material coming out the bomb shelter UG calls home. The tour will cover most of Southern Ontario and will encompass all kinds of venues. If you would like to see Uneven Ground play in your town, please email booking at ugbooking@... and feel free to suggest venues/promoters. More over, if you'd like to do some promotion or even start a street team for an upcoming UG concert in your area, email the same address and explain your idea.
So how about the bass??? As many of you may know, And4ew, the business savvy guitar convert with the bare feet, has decided to move on to browner pastures (just kidding). Though the band is sad to see him go, they wish him all the best in his future endeavours. UG is currently on the prowl for a new low-end mastermind and if it's you or someone you know, pray about it and email the band directly (and trust me, they don't normally give this number out) at highstrung@.... Meantime, former UG bassist Jeremy Hoover has agreed to fill in with the band until they find someone. You won't want to miss those shows. Jeremy is a complete nut-ball on stage and is the original low-end composer of most of the tunes in the set.

Crooked Dirt and Uneven Ground prepare for ultimate publicity grab:
In a landmark decision this morning, Rod, Tin, Kojak, JSn, & Dave (no nickname at press time) have signed on the dotted line to form a side project.
The side project will be an all "kiddie-toy-metal" band called "MATTELLICA". The decision came when both bands realized they were in dire need of free publicity.
"We feel that gettin' sued by both Mattel and M*tallica will be suicide for the new band, but excellent for our respective existing projects." Stated Tin, other guy in Crooked Dirt, earlier today. "We'd get sued like crazy, have nothing, lose nothing and make all kinds of news." The project's second choice for a name was "WHO WANTS TO BE A REGIS?"

You've certainly heard about Anthrax showing up in post offices and office buildings a lot lately. Well the news is about to take a turn. Apparently Uneven Ground has also been showing up in mailrooms and secure buildings. Man, don't these rock bands have anything better to do?***

Uneven Ground has signed up with internationally known organization "R.A.T.S." and will lend their star power to free minds everywhere of brainless slop and to free couches everywhere of unwanted bums. Well folks, you've been lovely. I'm glad to be back at the helm of the newsletter division here at SEED Records Towers. My new office is actually just a stall in the men's room that happens to have a wall outlet in it. I figure that if they add a fountain, I'm all set!!
