Both Tim Alberts (keyboard) and Philip Cottrell (guitar and
saxophone) have been very supportive by playing at our last two
Village Cafe Variety Nights outreach events for Erin Village
Alliance Church held at David's restaurant in Erin.
Please consider supporting them and come out to their concert
this Friday February 4 in Georgetown. Musicians include Fergus
Marsh, Gary Craig, David White (Dustkickers) and Glen
Soderholm.

From: "Tim Alberts" <tim@...>
A few years ago Philip Cottrell and I began performing together
in and around Georgetown - mostly small coffee shops and
cafes. We were having a good time singing each others songs
and were getting such a positive response from people, that we
decided to record a CD for posterity. Easier said than done - 18
months later and we finally have the CD finished! To celebrate,
and to launch the CD we are having a concert, and have invited
some musical friends to join us on stage.
Fergus Marsh will be playing bass and Chapman Stick, and
Glen Soderholm and David White will be singing with us as well
as performing a few of Glen's songs.
We are also fortunate to have Gary Craig joining us on drums -
you may have heard him playing on recent recordings by Jann
Arden, Colin Linden and Bruce Cockburn.
You can read more about the concert and CD at:
http://www.moonlitmusic.ca
If you would like to keep in touch, send a message to
<tim@...> and I will add you to our
mailing list. We enjoy playing and recording music but are pretty
new to the concept of promotion and marketing. However, we are
confident that the concert will be a good evening's entertainment
and look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Please put up a poster in your church or place of work.

2) UNEVEN GROUND HAS LET LOOSE A THIRD SINGLE and it's by far the heaviest one
yet (snicker). If you thought you had UG figured out... well, you might have.
Go ahead and grab ye a copy of Found Alive.

4) HERE'S A CHANCE TO VISIT THE TWO SUAVE BANDS UG is playing with frequently in
the coming 2 months: Flint - www.flintsite.com & Surface 2 Air - www.s2a.ca.
Check them out, they rock.
5) THINGS COMING UP... and out! In January the band will be hitting the road
with K/W's own Eyerhyme. These guys are great and it should be good times.
UG will be dropping another track for you not too long into 2005. It will be
brand new and prepare to be smitten!!
The band would also like to announce that Tony (vox) and his wife Ruth are
expecting their first child and Jason (geets) and his wife Jacqui are expecting
their 3rd child, both in spring 2005. Both of the fellas are quite relieved
with the fact that they will not be doing the "delivering" of their respective
children, but are eagerly looking forward to meeting the little ones.
www.unevenground.ca
6) AUTUMN IS AMAZING!! The leaves become this huge array of magnificent
colours. Some of the scenes are breathtaking. It's the strangest thing,
though... this awesome signal of a new season is also a sign of death. Already
most of the trees are bare as the leaves have fallen from the trees, dead. But
we know that as winter blankets our country, all manner of newness is
approaching. The awesome sight of swollen rivers, churning and tumbling.
Spring flowers. New leaves. The sight of baby animals running around. Let's
remember that at this sometimes gloomy time of year, when Fall is becoming
Winter, that a newness is coming. We should all take advantage of these
opportunities to begin again, to start over. No matter what's going, how bad
things may be, there is hope!
Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved
us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He
saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he
poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having
been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal
life.
Hope to see you all soon!!

The Tour So Far... (not taken from Rolling Stone Magazine)
The tour is going well so far. UG has enjoyed working with Angerkain, the
nicest bunch of angry guys on the planet. The shows without them have
definitely not been the same, but there were a couple great non-tour shows as
well. This month Uneven Ground has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with
such class-acts as MDM, Charlena Russell, Asher, Surface 2 Air, Them's Fightin'
Words, Zeroscape, 19 Days, Section 8, Samsara, Dana Andrews, Grand Marais, and
several others that elude remembrance at the moment. There have been a few
awkward shows, but most of them have been downright cool! Watch for another
club tour in November!
Thanks go out to Misty, Charlena and James for making the particular shows you
were involved with such a success. You guys rock! We'd also like to thank the
very cool newspaper reporters we got to deal with on the tour so far. The
stories have been accurate! Generally we'd have to agree with Frank, so this
experience was a delight.
"Most rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't
talk for people who can't read."
Frank Zappa.

Upcoming Shows::::::::::::::|
This weekend marks the end of the 3 Foot Grave tour. Actually it turned out to
technically be a 2-foot grave tour, by why quibble? Anyway, the penultimate
show of the tour is @ The Mad Mechanic in Niagara Falls. The concert is an all
ages, licensed event. UG and Angerkain will be hitting the stage with Section 8
and 19 Days, both of whom shared the platform with UG @ L3 on Sept. 19. Also
joining this show will be Ruttegger (www.ruttegger.com), friends of ours from
Port Colborne. If you live in the area, come on out and hang with us! It
promises to be a great night!!
Saturday will be a night to remember! trashing the scene at a Curry Restaurant
in Stratford, Ontario, Uneven Ground, Angerkain and our new pals Them's Fightin'
Words will be bringing down the house in style! Tom of Them's Fightin' Words
has warned UG the place will be packed and that people will probably end up
being turned away. Be there early!! The show at "Curry On" (no joke) starts @
10pm with Uneven Ground and as far as I know, there is no admission. If that
changes, I'll send you a note!!
Check the website for detailed info.
www.unevenground.ca
THE HUGE NEWS IS that there's no huge news. I thought for sure Jason would have
sent me some huge news. Maybe next time.
www.unevenground.ca
THE BAND IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON a tour with Surface 2 Air and Flint (www.s2a.ca
& www.flintsite.com) for November. That will be intermingled with a tour with
THE MYSTERY FRIENDS (act to be announced) in the same month hitting several of
the venues The 3 Foot Grave tour hit along with a few more. These tours will be
a lot of fun and that means you should come to the shows!
Uneven Ground is also preparing for a very special "Quiet Time" show. You'll
get to see the us at our loungey best as we do an acoustic show. The whole band
will be involved. This event is being hosted to help raise funds for UG as well
as offer an opportunity to you all to see another side of the band. And "...so
our parents will come and see us play for once!!" says one mullefied band
member. Date and Location to be announced shortly!
That's it. Go away!

Finally... Sanity. Are you Sane? I hope not. Take two minutes to look at how
"sane", "logical", "scientific" people live their lives. Not that reason and
wisdom aren't valuable in their place, but God sees the wisdom of man as
foolishness. So let's all get nuts, ok? Look for something beyond the borders
of reason. Call out to the speckled, cold night-sky and see what lies just out
of logic's reach...
If you need help dealing with your sanity, drop us a line. We'd LOVE to help.
Better yet, hit a show for group therapy!

Simple update :: Chop Up The Workweek!!
Hey everyone! We had an awesome show with Angerkain this past Friday and two
fantastic show in Brantford last weekend, playing with pals Pandemic and new
friends Asher.
Recommendation: www.asherrock.com - These guys rock!
So Arty's off in Tulsa or something trying to sell Rhino droppings to Asparagus
farmers. That leaves me with the job of telling all y'all about this week's BIG
HUGE MASSIVE show.
A total stylistic melting pot, "Chop Up The Workweek" (vol. 1) will be kicking
into high gear this Wednesday night (July 28) in Toronto @ Club Rockit
(www.clubrockit.com).
Bands include:
Asher: www.asherrock.com
Simmer: www.simmer.ca
Vegalite: www.vegalite.com
and us, Uneven Ground: www.unevenground.ca
Sadly, the show is 19+, so we apologize to all of our 18- fans. This in no way
implies that we condone drinking, it is simply the policy of the club where the
show is taking place.
Watch for an all ages show in the area soon though!
Details:
This show starts @ 8:00 pm sharp with Asher. You can be a bit early, no
problem. The cost is a whopping $5 (for 4 awesome bands).
Here's the extra cool part! Uneven Ground is organizing a road-trip! We'll try
to drive anyone who wants to go from our area or along our route to the show and
back again. No extra cost but the $5, as long as you scream your faces off for
the bands.
Why???? Well, because it's a nice thing to do. And because this show is
important on several levels. AND because there will be a camera crew there.
How intensely cool is that?? Can you say "pro-shot" UG live footage??
So if you're going, let us know so we have a tally: chopitup@...
And dude, make a sign!!! ;-)
If you wanna go and want in on the carpoolage: chopmyride@...
Let us know where you are and we'll see if it works!!
Alright. Be cool to each other and listen when eternity speaks:
We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can
understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice.
But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death
while we were of no use whatever to him.
Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the
consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with
God in any way.

4) SO WHAT'S NEXT?
www.unevenground.ca
1) OK, MAYBE THAT SHOULD HAVE READ "tour-rama" or "gig-o-rama"... Anyway, this
week, UG will be hitting 3 or 4 gigs in 3 days. Here's the sked with extra
details...
June 30, 2004 [Wednesday]
Ducky Park in Burgessville for the Canada Day celebrations. Show kicks off @
7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the gate. Other bands include In Shadows, Durle
Gilmore and Special Guests!
Burgessville is right on Highway #59, south of Woodstock and north of Delhi (and
Norwich).
July 1, 2004 [Thursday]
Tillsonburg Canada Day celebrations. Other bands include Surface2Air, Minute
Switch and False Heroics. Uneven Ground will be appearing on the main stage at
4:00 pm [immediately before the belly dancers] and the Battle Stage @ 9:00 pm.
Both events take place @ the fairgrounds, near the Tillsonburg Water Park, which
is right next to the community centre.
**Due to an unexpected wrinkle, UG might not be appearing in the mentioned 4:00
slot. A quick info-spec will be sent out before Thursday. The 9:00 slot is
solid, though!
July 2, 2004 [Friday]
Huron Park Baptist Church, Woodstock. Playing with Nynestarr and Ender & Ivory.
Show starts @ 7:00 pm, cost is $6.
***Just confirmed!!***
July 17, 2004 [Saturday]
Alexanders in Brantford w/ Pandemic & Asher. Another band is being added to the
roster. More details and directions coming shortly!!
So... be sure to check out one (or all) of these shows! UG is honoured to be
playing with so many fantastic bands. I know, they told me so.
www.unevenground.ca
2) AGAIN, A HEADING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN mis-interpreted. What it means is,
Finally, after due time has come and gone a few times, Uneven Ground t-shirts
are here! Well, almost. They arrive tomorrow afternoon. Shirts are $15, and
are high-quality garments (unlike the POD shirt a certain UG member bought
recently that is already falling apart). Anyway they, along with a limited
number of the new UG promo discs and other whacky merch, will be available at
all these gigs (while supplies last).
www.unevenground.ca
3) JUST A REMINDER FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO go way back with Uneven Ground, friends
of UG, Louder Than Words (RIP) have finally released their loooong anticipated
full-length album "It Goes Without Saying". This album is amazing and is a must
for fans of King's X, Radiohead, U2 or even good music! Hit it up here. Sound
clips available too: http://www.activevr.com/ltw
4) SO WHAT'S NEXT FOR UNEVEN GROUND? Well, for now, gigging like maniacs,
writing more and more songs (and dudes and dudesses, each song blows the last
one away!). The band was shooting another video, for the song Listen To The
Music, but the whole copyright thing with the Doobie Bros. messed it up. Sooo...
hang in there. More audio treats coming your way soon!!
THAT'S IT FOR NOW!! See you at the shows this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...<error>

Yeah, there's a band you haven't heard of for a while! Louder than Words
(http://www.activevr.com/ltw) retired some time ago. Before departing the scene
we recorded a CD which was kept hidden in a secure location because...well,
because that's what happened.
You can now buy the CD for a mere $10! And your $10 gets donated to support
local charities! What a deal!
The FAQs are:
Q: Why did you wait so long before releasing the CD?
A: We're somewhat lazy
Q: Why did you wait so long to promote the CD on Curio?
A: We're somewhat lazy
Q: Why is the CD so cheap?
A: Why not?
Q: Do people like the CD?
A: Yes, they like it a lot! Seriously!
Q: Has the CD got any airplay?
A: Yes it's being played on over 20 radio stations in Canada and the US
Q: Where do I get it?
A: Our website - http://www.activevr.com/ltw
We hope you like the CD. If you don't you can always use the shiny side to
signal for help when lost in the Himalayas!

========
A note from Nathan ::
Hey everyone! The guys and I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and a big
thanks for all your continuous support of Uneven Ground. It's been an awesome
past few months with the release of Over4 and the music video for it, the launch
party we had on April 3rd, and the show schedule that has been growing. We still
have dates that are awaiting confirmation so keep an eye on the site for those.
We're doing our best to hit every city possible in hopes that all of you will be
able to come to a show in your area. It's so awesome to go play a gig and have
you guys show up!
But with all these blessings comes a responsibility, a task. We're blessed to be
able have so many great friends, and it's to you and to God that we are
accountable. Hold us in our prayers as we play and continue writing new
material that we would keep the task and purpose of this band in the forefront
of everything we do.
Our prayer is that the words of the songs, and spirit in the music will inspire
and move you. That they will challenge all of us in our own personal lives.
We pray for passion everlasting, love unparalleled, and a drive unmatched that
we may complete HIS task for Uneven Ground through and through.

See y'all in Norwich!!!

our first batch of songs ...
unfortunately for us, our singer can't continue ...

fortunately for "someone" out there, there is a spot

it's pretty much straight-up rock with 100% original
