"Over4" is now online.  It's a pretty big file, so dial-upper's beware.  A
crummy, shrunken-head QuickTime version should go online someday.  Check it out
and let da band know what you think.  The budget for the video was a whopping
$65 and was filmed and edited by friends of UG, Crooked Dirt.

1) THE LAUNCH PARTY WAS INSANE!!  I managed to sneak in the back way for this
sold-out event and go unnoticed in my band-wife constume.  After a quick look
around, I recognized that I could have easily taken on the two skinny little
dudes working the door.  Anyway, the party was awesome.  There was food (piles),
ladies, lights and loafers...  There wast an great number of UG fanz and friendz
there, some ex-UGites and some other coolsters rounding things out.  And did I
mention the skinny kids working the door?  They blew up this killer intro video
re-capping the band's history which went into... the video for Over4!!  I had to
watch it through a lot of huge bangs, but it was awesome!!  And it looks like...
well anyway, then this countdown kicked on saying it was 20 minutes until
show-time.  The room was hyped...  or allergic to the punch...
And then the band kicked it.  The show rocked with some great new tracks, some
classics from Arkona Fairway (including a medley) and an Encore which was
absolutely CLASSIC.  Let's just say, 2 songs, one of which was "stupider" than
the other (yes, actually, I own the rights to "subtle").  So for those of you
who missed it...  I weep and wail for you.  But fear not, UG will be trashing a
town near you VERY soon.  The tentative tour schedule is BIZZY!!!  They'll be
everywhere!

2) SPEAKING OF TOURING, Uneven Ground is looking at the proposed schedule as we
speak.  Booking is going great and there's talk of an East Coast tour II this
summer.  Maybe without the broken down Van escapade.  If you're interested in
helping with booking and you're from or connected with the east-coast
(Quebec/New Brunswick/Nova Scotia/PEI/Newfoundland/Ireland or any New England
States), drop a note to wherez_tha_giddar_@... and we'll get some

Currently, only one date has been released publicly.  JSn & B-Rian will be
heading back to some familar territory in May as the band hits Christian Life
Assembly in Port Colborne.  This will be an intense show, without a doubt.  The

3) WALL PAPER IS YOUR FRIEND, WHICH MEANS that Wal-Mart has made the poorest
marketing decision ever: They will not be carrying the life-sized Uneven Ground
wallpaper, which allows one to feel as if they're in the centre of some serious
rockin' out.  This killer deco-gear is, however, available @ Raghib Lebowski's
3-Knuckle-Shoe Emporium in Stratford, Ontario.  Git some.  IF you git some,
please send us pictures.  IF you git some, please see a specialist.

4) WELL, THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE (www.unevenground.ca) had to do some shuffling
around, and so the webisodes are there for a few short more while-bits.  Better
hurry (again).  With the change in gate-keepers and stuff, the update is a bit
late coming down the wire.  But there is a brand new poll
(http://www.unevenground.ca/poll_page.htm) and the news page is slightly
different.  Also, the shows page has been updated.  Go.  Visit.  Read.

5) A WHOLE NEW SITE IS COMING down the sewer as we speak.  If I were you I'd
stay at the computer hitting reload until it launches.  Visit the UG Guestbook
and tell me and the ladz what you think should appear on the new site.  Chances
are someone might read it.

6) SHAVING YOUR HEAD IS HARD WORK I think.  My hair just fell out, so I dunno.

1) WE'RE REALLY SUPER-VERY-SORRY for the technical difficulties that attacked
the site.  The huge amount of web-traffic generated by the release of the new
single (Over4) necessitated a server upgrade, which in turn necessitated that
the site be re-posted.  In the midst of that the master-controller was disabled
by hardware issues.  Everything should be back to normal and ready to handle
whatever traffic may come.  And since there's a ton of bandwidth to be gobbled
up...

2) THE WEBISODES HAVE BEEN UPGRADED!!  Now you can download higher resolution
versions of the 3 "Getaway" webisodes, but only for about 24 hours.  Sometime
Friday they will disappear forever from www.unevenground.ca.  So get them while

3) RUMOUR DEBUNKING IS A good way to kill a few precious hours, so here you go.
Rumour: Is there a video for "Over4"  Answer: It turns out, there IS!  How can
you see it?  The only answer to that is patience.  The video has been shot and
edited.  A few post-production items remain on the list.  Who filmed it?  All
will be revealed in time, glasswhopper.
Rumour: The band is considering pursuing a special holiday in their own honour. 
Answer: No.  Some nut-burgers have been spreading this beauty.  There will never
be an "Uneven Groundhog Day".

4) SO YOU'VE LISTENED TO OVER4 LIKE A BILLION TIMES AND all you can think of is
"I need more UG"...  well,  it has been confirmed that the band will be
releasing two more tracks via the web before Summer touring kicks in.  No date
has been set, but everyone in attendance of the Launch Party (no seats left!!)
will have them next Saturday.  How sweet is that!?!?  These tracks are intense,
each in their own way, and many of you will recognize one of them...  ah, the

Hey - just wanted to let everyone know that I am organizing a special
festival for July 1st.  Part of this special music festival is that
it has a Christian Battle of the Bands contest.  It has a lot more
but - we are still looking for bands to fill that stage as well as
the main stage.  Anyways - take a look at the website - it will tell

Hi, we are currently looking for bands to play for our 2nd annual
show in Oshawa, ON, Shake and Bake @ the Lake. It is a free outreach
show, therefore we cannot pay the bands much. However, bands are
encouraged to sell their merchandise to gain profit. We usually get
a couple hundred kids out. Last year we had Hawk Nelson, Rides
Again, Finding Agnus, and SK88.

manager Ringo Starr denied that there was any truth to the hype.  Or if there
is, no-one told him.

8) NEWS.  MOVIES.  MUSIC.  VIDEO GAMES.  EMAIL.  WEBCHATS.  blah blah blah!!
It's amazing, if you look at it, how little time any of us spend thinking and
reflecting nowadays.  It's a time of download-an-opinion, zip-file-morals and
mp3-emotions.  The truth of the hugeness of God and all that surrounds us has
been swallowed up by blinking lights and ringing phones.  Many of us give the
odd passing thought to "What am I doing here?" between magazine articles and
firing high-powered e-rifles, but it rarely gets our attention long enough to
harvest a lengthy introspection.  Have we allowed the media to rob us of our
capacity think and make realizations?  Can we only connect dots that are close
together?
Here's a challenge: Take some quiet time, maybe outside (the days are
lengthening and warming up), all alone and look around.  Look inside.  Look up. 
Switch off the Sony Taskmaster, unplug the brain-sucker and poke that fat little
green MSN dude in the eye.
Disconnect and let your mind wander where it will.  It'll hurt a bit, but the
rewards of letting your mind find some truths are immense.  Just think.  Ponder.
Wonder.  Talk out to the sky and see if anyone's listening.  Disarm the Weapons

2) UNEVEN GROUND PUT OUT A CHALLENGE to a few members of our list to drive
people to the song page (www.unevenground.ca/over4) and listen and submit
reviews.  The contest has been extended and opened to the whole list.  What do
you do?  Email everyone you know who has the internet and at least one ear. 
Tell them to check out the song and submit a review (good or bad) and tell us
who sent them.  The person with the most responses with their name on them will
receive a FREE pass to the Launch Party.  The small group we contacted
yesterday, managed to drive a lot of traffic in, but we decided to see if anyone
else on our list could top them.  We definitely had a clear winner, but maybe
one of you can surprise us and get even more reviews in??  Who won from
yesterday?  Well keep at it and we'll announce early next week!!

3) WHAT LAUNCH PARTY, YOU KEEP asking... and well you may!  Uneven Ground is
hosting a Launch Party as the starting point of a whole new level of what
they're up to.  The Launch Party is a limited seating, special venue event for
you, the fans and friends of Uneven Ground.  An invitation list has been
prepared and some of you will receive specific RSVP invites.  However, there are
a few slots open to the first people to respond.  If you've already written in,
worry not, we have you logged.  Some of you were already on the invite list,

Hello,
Can you feel the warm weather and gentle breezes beckoning you
outdoors? Believe it or not summer is going to soon be here and we
have been already hard at work planning on the events for July 1st of
this year. So this is an update of some of the things that we are
looking for assistance and you are invited to become a proud advocate
and participant of the festival.

Musicians/Christian Bands/Tillsonburg Idol: we have several different
musical formats this year.  Again application forms for each of these
went out in January but we are still looking for musicians.  If you
want to know more about each - check out our web page:

Workshop Leaders: this year we are inviting people to put on
workshops as an education compenent of the festival.  We already have
a drumming workshop and belly dancing lined up.  If you are
interested in creating or scheduling a musical workshop - please

that might also be interested in being part of the festival - please
pass their information on, so that we can invite them to be a part of
the day.

1) THE NEW SINGLE has been given a release date!  The brand new UG studio track,
"Over4", will be released on the website on February 29.  Guitar-tech JSn said
of the release date "We picked it cuz it's not a real day...  not usually."  Yes
folks, @ midnight, February 29 (That's right after 11:59 pm, Feb 28) the doors
of grandeur will swing open and stuff.  Be the first one in your neighbourhood
to put "Over4" in your file-sharing folder!
This track, along with 2 others were recorded @ Studio A in Detroit, Michigan
and @ The Music Room in "Just-outside-three-small-towns", Ontario.

2) UNEVEN GROUND IS HOSTING A VERY special event, coming up soon.  The official
Uneven Ground launch party is a limited seating event for fans and friends of
UG.  The band will be playing a full set, including first-time performances of
several brand spankin' new UG songs, along with a track or two that haven't been
heard live in years.  There will be food, merch and everyone in attendance will
receive a special promotional kit (available nowhere else!) including a CD
containing the new single, two other studio tracks and some very cool extras! 
Capacity for this event is very limited and a portion of the seating is reserved
for invited guests.  Tickets will be $10 and are available on a first-come,
first-served basis.  Time and Location are TBA, but if you want to ensure a spot
(or two) email the band @ uglaunch@... right away with your name and
contact information.  411 on location will be dispersed only to confirmed
attendees.  There will be no "At-The-Door" admission available.

3) "THE FIRST ALBUM Uneven Ground ever recorded, was done in Detroit, Michigan,
back in about 1995.  The album was never released (with good reason...).  The
first Album UG ever released was recorded @ the Music Room in Ontario.  It's
interesting that the culmination of years of ups and downs have arrived at an
exciting new release, recorded in both those places, landmarks for the band. 
Things have changed a lot since that first album, and even since Arkona Fairway.
One thing is the same, though.  UG writes music that comes from inside, whatever
style it needs to be, whatever needs to be said, and always with intensity.  The
material that's in process even as I write this is just awesome.  Nathan and I
have both grown as musicians and song-smiths (heh) over the years and the
addition of seasoned bassist, "B-rian" (La Pinski, was it?) and his deft low-end
craftsmanship, along with the awesome song-writing and singing talent that UG
alumnus Tony Lavender has brought back into the band (Tony was the singer on our
first official release, the EP Groovekrank) is making for a very satisfying
song-writing experience.  Sharing faith makes the fabric of this group
all-the-more tightly knit.  I'm very pleased with where UG is headed.  The
direction is new, but we've not abandoned our old fans.  It's an excellent
transition (as will become clearer in the next couple of months) between the
band that was and the band that is.

Greetings to the faithful:
Hello to all of you [h]EADSPACE (and Zacc's Tree) fans that ever were. It's been
a while since I've written to you and for that I apologize. It has taken some
time for us to see how things might play out for us as a band and so, I've been
waiting for something concrete to pass on to you. And here is where we are
at......................

I suspect that the word has already made it's way to many of you already, but
for those who have no yet been enlightened, [h[EADSPACE has decided to part
ways. But please, weep no tears for us!! We are incredibly excited and in some
instances almost giddy about what the future holds. For Jason Rusnak, bassist
extraordinaire, it means another incredible child in the next few months and an
opportunity to share his talents with us in a more "worship focused" setting.
For Jamie K, it means an opportunity to strap on his guitar and hit the road
with Canada's favorite rock band "Thousand Foot Krutch!" From JP Smits, long
time member of Zacc's Tree, we anxiously await a killer solo album! Keep your
eyes open for that in the near future. And for myself............. well, I too
am about to be a father yet again, and as much as I love to play for you all, I
am looking forward to stepping it up as a dad and a husband. I guess the ideal
would be if we could just ROCK OUT for you all, just one more
time...................... er............................what's
that??.......................

That's right! We are completely stoked to put on one last show for you all! It

rock n' roll and to let you see firsthand how much we appreciate you and all the
great memories that exist because of you. The only catch is this. You have to

We just wanted to let you know of the latest JK BOOKING tour that's coming your
way as of the new year. Starting January 7th, the "Jamie k ... Praise & Worship
Experience" will be hitting the road for the first time in 2004. The night will
include a combination of music and ministry; an hour of worship time with Jamie
k and live band and the other hour will feature world renown author and speaker,
RYAN DOBSON. For those of you who don't know who Ryan is, he's James Dobson's
son (ok so I dropped a name...so what??)

The idea of the night is for Christian kids to be encouraged with their faith
through Ryan's speaking as well as a time to engage themselves in a very modern
praise and worship experience. This will be a great night for seeking and newly
committed Christians to take part in a non threatening "church service."

We're trying to keep the costs as low as possible to keep it affordable to you
as well as us.                            This is NOT meant to be a money making
tour we just need to cover costs such as Ryan, travel, lights, sound, etc. We
will be providing FULL lights and sound with this tour.
Are you interested? We are looking to fill dates between Wednesday January 7th
to Friday January 23rd..... so feel free to contact me with the date that you
are interested in. The buyout price of this event is yet to be determined,
however I can assure you that it will be very affordable. We are even looking
into sponsorship to help bring costs down even more.
