SF Venue Dies - thank ASCAP

For nearly 10 years, Skip's Tavern has been hosting jam sessions and
upstart blues/R&B/Rock/jazz groups. They host live music six days a
week -- without a cover charge.
At least they used to...
As of Oct. 1, There will be no more live music at Skip's Tavern,
apparently the result of heavy handed prosecution by ASCAP. I'm 1200
miles away, but used to be a regular on the Skips' stage. I even
recorded a CD of original jazz tunes at the club in July. But as I hear
it from friends still on the scene, this is what happened:
