* * * "Does Your CD Cover $ell (Or Suck)?" * * *
Take a *really* good look at your CD cover. Can you
honestly say that you did the very best possible job
with making it visually attractive to both media and
consumers?
Or, did you give it little or no quality consideration,
and simply threw something together as an
afterthought, or at the last minute, thinking only your
music was important?
If you opted for the latter, you should realize that,
believe it or not, in many cases, your music is first
SEEN before it is HEARD.
And, the lack of serious consideration of your CD
cover's "visual" message and depiction can be a
major reason for your music not getting quantitative
radio airplay, press coverage and sales.
Unfortunately, this factor describes many, if not
most artists.
You should also realize that, by *not* becoming
more proactive and seriously aggressive with the
visual aspect and design of your CD cover, you are
greatly shortchanging the potential of your release
from the onset, and not giving it its best possible
chance for maximum success.
Note: If you and your music are going to be highly
effective in competitively marketing, promoting and
advertising your music in today's Music industry, it
is vital and imperative that your CD cover presents
itself as a potential award-winning sales piece,
particularly, to people who have never heard your
music.
